Question: Does anyone know the size and length of these 3 bolts that bolt the 2 manifolds together from the top? 90101-10485

I'm pretty sure they are M10 X 1.25 pitch, but what length?

There is one slightly longer bolt, 90101‑10485, and 2 bolts 90101‑10486.
Also 3 hi-collar M10 lock washers 94512‑01000.
The 2 short bolts on the outside are 91612-61030 and have captive locks.

Because these bolts are usually rusty and have the threads stuck in the manifold, just order all new from Toyota, and get at least one M10 tap to chase the holes. The 3 threaded holes in the exh manifold will be hard as glass. The tap(s) will be dull and chipped after going into the super brittle heat-treated iron once.

I appreciate your feedback on this. I went online at www.toyotapartseast.com and had looked at the bolts, but then thought they might be standard bolts that I might source locally. But given your suggestions, I will just order them and make sure they are correct.

At this point, what's a few more days...

Another couple of questions. The metal insulator that is sandwiched between manifolds goes in with the curved area up for the heat riser to turn inside the assembly?

Also, part # 17146 Ring and 17147 Spring. How important to replace???

I don't recall there being a spring in there, but that was 5 yrs ago ???

You are correct, the curve goes up into the intake manifold recess.

17146 and 17147 should only be separated & replaced if necesary. If there was no significant leakage, just clean up the ends & reassemble.

28 to 36 ft lbs. I did 36 on mine with no problems. There is a sequence. Do a mud search and find the diagram. Don't worry about stripping it. I will send you the kit to fix it if that happens. See my thread!

What's the torque specs on these guys?

There is no spec on the inter manifold bolts. But they are a M10 bolt, which means 22-33 ft/lbs for standard bolts. Since 2 of them go into the AL intake manifold, I run all 5 down to only 25ft/lbs, with antiseez on the threads

Book spec on the manifolds is 28 for M10 and 36 for M12. Since Cali spec is higher with the same bolts, we know that the bolts are capable of pulling more. So I do the book spec, with the added bonus of antiseez on threads, which might give an additional 20% clamp load.

I don't have a gas filter as pictures in the photo below. If I'm desmoging, do I need one?

Or is there a plug to fit in this?

IIRC, there is a need for manifold vacuum from that manifold fitting. It goes over to the the dissy cap ventilation VCV. There are 3 nipples on that fitting, but only one or two are needed, so any manifold vac fitting with 1 or 2 ports will do. Go to the PNP JY and get one off any old Toyota.

FWIW, thread is 1/8BSP, not the far more common 1/8NPT.

Mine was desmoged by the PO and it's aliitle hard to see, but this is what they did to mine. Just looped some vacuum line from one side to the other. And it runs fine, so I would assume if you can find the right size plug it would be good to go. This is a '76 btw in case that makes a difference.

I believe it's a set screw for alternator or smog pump. Anyone?
