Speaking of that...

Guys on an LS/LT Facebook page say there should be very minimal problems with vibration due to the offset differential. Citing a few vehicles that are that way from the factory. And that a cv joint driveshaft isn't really needed at less than 15 degrees offset.

But others at driveshaft shops say it could be an issue. By my measurements, the offset is about 4".

My output flange is pointed down at 8deg. So I'm making the diff input flange match by pointing it up. So the shafts should be very close to parallel. And the 4" offset is about 8deg.

Yep, you don’t want a DC when they are offset. Just put fresh OEM U-joints in it and you’ll be fine. I bet it will vibrate with those 280k mile u-joints that lived their whole life at a different angle.

Looking great!!! Nice work!

Those mounts look factory!!! Nice! What paint did you use?

I have your thread to credit for the mount designs. 👍

The paint is Eastwood Rust Encapsulator Plus. Sprayed on straight-no thinning.

Most of the bits and pieces get sprayed with Kimball Midwest paint after being glass beaded. I've got access to both of those at my work 🤪

Well, what do you do when you need to check suspension and driveline angles at ride height, but you don't have a body yet?

Just get some steel plates. 🤣

Tire to fender clearance is 13" here

And 7-5/8 here

That's about 2,900 lbs of steel 🤪

Factory dry weight is advertised at 4,760
It's a little bit over factory weight now at but around the middle of the gvw at 5,835.

With 10-11" of suspension travel, that puts it pretty close to the middle at about 5-1/2 compressed.

Probably gonna backup a little but and do panhard correction brackets at the rear.

Front will be a little more involved to eliminatebump steer. Still looking at options...

And we got the stand alone engine harness, and ordered parts for 14" Wilwood brakes. So, my plate is full for a while. 🤣

Did you use an OEM harness? Or aftermarket? Looks great!

Got stand alone harness, ecu and other stuff from swap time usa.

Harness is very nice.

The intake elbow and pipe is from summit. Very likely going to use oem fzj80 air cleaner box.
