Now that's progress! Nice work.

Which gear is that where the bushing is worn out? Guessing an output gear. If it is one of the output gears, my parts lookup tool says they're nla.

Finally .... Sorry didn't take much pictures....

Polished the shaft where both bushing goes .. the big gear bushings was better but very corroded too changed both anyway.

Closed the t case , after pressing the 2 last bearings on the output shaft and changing the seal of the selector fork. Greased every paper seal too.

The 4wd synchro ring was a bit beaten ...but it still engage and work. Also, since I'm supposed to shift it when the truck is not moving it shouldn't be a problem at all.

For the rest, the gears were not bad , a bit of wear but nothing bad for a 40years old transmission. The worst was the brass bushings 🤷

Next will be the vacuum actuator to reinstall and then put it back under the truck with a brand new clutch disk since the other one died in the process.

More progress soon .

Finished the assembly , everything seem to shift snoothly and it turns easily with no noises.

Installation tonight ? Maybe 😂 if I can find a strong buddy to drop it off my tool chest (what a mess ... I know ....)

You are a machine, impressive!

I do what I can with what I have heheh

limited budjet with a lot of resources and know-how can bring a build pretty far ! I need to work on my garage organization tho ... I would be much more effective ahahah

Now that the truck will be running I will have to repair a few friends cars to get back afloat :)

Well I haven't been much of a photographer lately but everything is done and in place .

Wow ... I'm in love again . The difference is quite incredible , so smooth and quiet. Hoping it will last !

Everything work even the 4wd light that never did before 😂

First day of school for the girls this morning and they get to ride in the truck ! 😃

Went to work in another store this morning ... 1h drive, then the new honeymoon went down ...😑🥺

The 5th gear is popping out once in a while (like a few times on the return home)

I had my load of transmission work ... I'm exhausted ...

I guess I will use it like that for a while it's no big deal but damn ... It never done that before the rebuild so I was confident. Anyway.

For the rest it's awesome so I will wait till next summer to change the 5th gear assembly.

I miss when my only concerns were brakes .. and suspension 😂

I really dont use 5th much.. overrated gear on the 2H in my opinion.

Went camping with the kids at my father's sugar cabin. Went through the whole land with the truck , we used ATV before to do that ahah . Had to clear a tree but it went well!

We had a little fire late at night , was nice.

The exhaust drone drove me crazy tho on the return .... Tried to reduce it by adding a braided flex pipe . It's better but there is still something vibrating on throttle ... Engine mount maybe ? Will have to look it up.

Winter is coming also... Started shopping for tires and I will probably end up with a set of Falken wildpeak AT4 . My wheels are 7in wide and they recommend 8.5 in 33x12.5r15 I don't think it will change much ... But I would rather keep my actual wheels for now.

Truck is now running very nicely , insulated the front floors and will do the rear for sure !!

Opened the exhaust can and welded the tubes to the baffles to eliminate a rattle and it worked fine. Also replaced the strap exhaust hanger for something better and it also silenced a bit more.

I'm getting used to the 5th gear misbehaving.... Still I want to fix it but not this year ... Rather work on other things ...

I also did the double door seals , well worth the 50$ for soundproofing too :)

Still looking for a decent lower seat cover in the right color to finally have a "clean interior" 😅

New wheels ordered too! Tire choice was just not really interesting in 15in ... So I went in 16, a bit wider and much lighter with my much more tire options.

Should receive em before winter :)

What door seals are these? I only have pinchweld on the door aperture..

Did the rest of the front bumper in between two chores...
Really happy with the final result. Still have to remove it to sandblast and paint with better products .

One of the Red fog lights was not working anymore... So I got black replacement . I think they look better too.
