My first Toyota

Last i week began ordering parts for the coming project because i knew i wouldn't be able to stop myself from buying a few HKs with my stock piled SOA money... I wanted the the 4x4labs 6 lug hi steer arms, but then i found some one who could procure for me an out of stock kit from Marlin Crawler, so i thought id just go ahead with them because they have a turtle head on them.

My Mom is hilarious, when i showed my parents what i had just spent a weeks pay on, she asked, "why is there a slug freak on that one?"

I also got a great deal on an early FJ60 double cardan front drive shaft from @mel lowe. Excellent seller. Got back to me quickly with replies and got it shipped to me very fast! If i need anymore 60 parts that i can't get off "Rusty", he's definitely the guy to go to.


Just need to clean it up a little, drill a couple flanges for the different bolt pattern, and slap it on there!

Ive also been chatting with @GLTHFJ60, and thanks to his ridonkulous generosity, ill have a bunch more parts coming home with me from GSMTR in a few weeks

I agree. I needed that huge air compressor... All it does is sit on my back seat lol. But damn does it look kewl.

There is a thread on cheap mods / upgrades. You might want to check that out for some quality low budget ideas. I like the wood siding. Reminds me of our station wagon when I was a kid (long ago). If it were me, if it is running good, I would just use it and hold off on upgrades until you get out of school. Bank the money in case you need a repair. Gas alone could bankrupt a poor college kid. Right now, if it ain't broken, don't fix it. JMHO.

I forgot I took a couple pics of some of the trucks at ACC while i was dropping off the steering arms.

I would probably be awarded a month long ban for describing how hot and bothered i got from seeing this supercharged FZJ55... Almost every bit of metal on there is powder coated black (I can only assume they didn't know they could've chosen PURPLE). Its literally the best mashup of cruiser parts I've ever seen. And that coming from someone who really isn't too keen on pigs. I couldn't stop smiling looking at this thing.

haha yeah they're only 20 miles from me so enjoy spending the day there every couple weeks or so to see what up. But I've been pretty busy with work and school lately so i haven't really been able to get over there as much as id like.

So after finally pulling the Aussie locker I sold out of the old rear semi float today, i went and picked up the my freshly painted purple arms... they look so good!!! The pics are s***, but i was fighting a losing battle with the window curtains so i just gave up.


I also sent my spare steering box to West texas off road to be rebuilt and redneck ramified, should get rid of any slop, act as a super nice steering damper, and make steering real easy when in the rocks. This will probably be my favorite mod in this SOA project.
