Nope, we decided that we probably should finish some school work and instead possibly try and plan for a weekend trip to Windrock sometime before GSMTR. So get the family ready for another camping trip up north!
In other news, I got all my supplies ready for when i install my locker next weekkkkkk!!!! I'm pumped.

Thank you very much sir! The bumper support brackets on the sides are sharp as hell, so I'm most likely gonna get tetanus in the next few days...

Sorry if this was said before but are you putting it in the front or rear axle?? rear you should have no problems running the stock birfs unless you like hoppin on hills then giving it more gas haha
Good luck on the install it was so easy hardest part was getting the probably never changed gasket off

Ummm Yeah... i like the skinny pedal a little more than is healthy.

Keepin my fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly, but I'm not too terribly worried

lol, yeah that fancy magazine "TASCHEN" appeals to my hairy chested man's man lumberjack side (featuring James fxxxing Bond). Then switches it up to appeal to lady's man side with a fairly naked model on the cover (featuring Adriana).
Knowing you, air lockers aren't going to be the only thing you get next.

Got around to putting the Aussie in the rear diff yesterday. Started around 3pm, ended around 7:40. Definitely wouldn't have taken so long if it was a nice warm summer's day, but it most definitely was not.
I had a lot of fun doing it since it was my first time opening up the diff and seeing how everything works, but i did feel bad about disrupting the elegant dance the gears have been continuously doing for the last 23-ish years without incident.
Hopefully i can test it out VERY thoroughly in Tennessee in the next week or so... if the stars aline and all goes well... Nick that means you. Don't make plans hahaha
So heres my little "write up"...
what you're supposed to see upon removing the diff cover...
Get rid of those tiny dancers inside the carrier...
After doing some tolerance tests, INSTALL THAT B!TCH...
Finish Inside.......
My mess..
Even had a visitor come over to my Grandma's house earlier in the day to help out for a little while.. Thanks Fahed
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION: (DONT VOID YOUR WARRENTY!!!!!!)
-Make sure the distances between locker spacers and pinion shaft on each side are between .006" - .020"
Mine were .006" and .007" (Cuz i like to live on the raggedy edge haha)
-Make sure the distance between cam gears is between .145" - .170"
Mine was .151" (YAY!)
If there are any questions, I am now a battle-hardened locker installer and will do my best to answer them

So what did you use to check the tolerances, feeler gauge, caliper, just eyeballed it? Looks good - did you have to remove the c-clips to remove the spider gears?

While i would like to say i just eyeballed it, I am only human and was about .002" off in my visual estimate (probably cuz i wasn't wearing my my glasses), so i used my handy dandy feeler gauge to double check.
To remove the the spider gears, you slide the pinion shaft out (by taking out the pinion retaining bolt) and then just spin the wheels slowly. They just revolve right out into your hand. Removing the C-clips comes a little later.
