Looking more like a motor every time! Not pictured, but i replaced more vaccuum hoses and put the throttle body on.

It is Sepia brown. Absolutely love how it turned out.NICE! What color is that?
What tests did he perform to tell you it's HG?With everything under the hood good to go, i was still confused as to why i was overheating. I talked to my mechanic and we determined it to be the head gasket. I don't have the money to spend on that repair, so I am going to go with the blue devil sealer. The person who i brought the motor from most likely had no idea, as he didn't even run the engine long enough to confirm.
As far as the transmission issues, I am going to swap in another one that I have.
No tests due to current financial situation. I explained to him what I had done to the motor since putting it in, and the overheating symptoms I was experiencing. Next I showed him a video i took this morning of a consistant cloud of Exhaust pouring out of the tailpipe, that did not go away once she was well above warm. I did smell some coolant. My temperature has been going into the red with everything i've checked since realizing my heat wasn't working (bypassing heater core, swapping thermostats, purging air out of the system etc). Lastly, it's a motor that came out of a rig that was brought for parts. It's possible it had a head gasket issue to begin with, as to why whoever sold it for parts did so.What tests did he perform to tell you it's HG?
We've been seeing a lot of mechanics that are saying it, but not "properly" diagnosing.
Don't just dump crap in it because someone thinks it a HG. They need data to back it up.
I would post in the clubhouse section under the Copper State Cruisers area asking for references in Tucson or have it rerouted to @Cruiserhiggs in Mesa and have him do the work. He did/does the major work on my 80.Well, i'm back in Tucson for good. Been here about 2 and a half weeks or so. I have my Duramax out here so far. The 80 should be picked up hopefully tomorrow, and will be on it's way! A good number of MUD members in Arizona, so I shouldn't have a problem getting the headgasket and transmission done out here. I've been itching to wheel, so i made do with what i've got for now.
