Where abouts are you in NY? I grew up just west of Rochester.
Too bad about the psycho hose beast, best of luck with your move back home.

Did it come with that dent in the front bumper or do "own" that one? :)

I am on the north shore of nassau county in Long Island. And i dented it, haha.

Set up a lawn sprinkler underneath the truck to wash off the mud!

Starting to prep for rust proofing and topcoat. Been doing alot of powerwashing, and cleaning.

Finally completed the rust proofing. I went with KBS coatings rust seal, followed by their "blacktop" uv resistant paint. I also primed then painted the wheels with tan spray bedliner. It's only until i can get nicer wheels.

She is at the shop right now getting some little things taken care of, but in a few weeks I might have enough to order front and rear 4x4Labs bumpers.

This thread is long overdue!
I started removing the dash to access the heater core for repair. I had a broken pipe that was leaking coolant into the passenger side floor board. Ripped the entire carpet out, and I will be replacing it with brand new carpet.
On a good note, my tax returns should be coming in soon, so i will be purchasing the 4x4 Labs front bumper :)

Welcome mate!
One thing your 80 won't do for you is breaking your neck accelerating 0-60.
Will teach you patience on the road
Will certainly break your wallet
Will definitively break your heart if you wreck her.
But you'll have one of the most satisfying relationship known to man
Cheers!

So true...so very true.

Got the heater core out finally, and was able to get out the damaged pipe. Going to have the broken pipe fixed and then it's time to put the core back in the dash. What a pain in the...

Carpet arrived Saturday. Today i started the install.
Still have to make the cuts for the third row seats. Not that i will ever need them, but you never know..

Very happy with the color. It goes well with the seats, and the darker colors on the doors and dash also look good against it. Still have to finish up some final trimming, and have the dash put back together, but it's looking great!

Ordered the Dobinsons 4" Flexi Coils, 20mm and 30mm coil spacers for just a little more lift, Icon shocks, and extended brake lines. The current lift will be coming out and will be for sale shortly.

I was able to make alot of progress yesterday. I got the heater core I repaired back in, and the dash back in. It was tricky getting it back into place, but once where it was needed to be, everything else was a breeze. Got a little more to do on it today, then the dash will be 100% complete. Oh, and I hope I never have to do it again!

My new 4" Flexi coils came in yesterday. Gonna be installing those as well, but still waiting on my shocks...

Finished up with the shocks today.
All that's left to do is castor correction, extended brake lines, rear adjustable panhard, and front adjustable panhard. I am going to do the superior radius arms this summer hopefully.
Took her on a quick ride around the block, then took some flex shots...making good use of the rocks I have.... lol.
These 35"s look small now!

Took a ride today to a little dirt road. This is usually my go to spot to test work i do on my rigs. I refilled my A/C and re connected my heater hoses to the heater core since I had it bypassed. I still need to put in the rear extended brake line, then I should be ready to hit some trails. I just picked up a new truck, so I will now be able to tow the 80 to offroad parks if I don't feel like driving it...just gotta buy or rent a trailer.

Rear extended brake line is in, and the a/c seems to be holding. Went to test the flex now that the brake lines are 100%. Did great. I am going to be picking up a set of stock front (a much better front) and rear bumpers next week to hold me over till I can get the 4x4 Labs stuff.

Man i realized I havent updated this in awhile.
I recently replaced both locker actuators and the transfer case 4low switch. And replaced the old double din head unit with a new one that has GPS.

Well, covid got me. However, being home gives me some time to order parts for the rig. I have some 37"s coming in today. Going to be going with Icon wheels, however discount tire was low on stock, so I am waiting to hear back from them today. Also going to be going with white knuckle sliders, and 4x4 labs front and rear bumpers.
Time to keep building this thing, as I plan on moving back to Arizona in a year.

Tires came in the other day! And my wheels are arriving tomorrow.

Also I started working on getting the holes on my hood repaired where the previous owner had mounted led pods. I welded some sheet metal to the underside. Waiting on the bondo to dry so i can sand, and prime.

The hood came out pretty crappy. Note to self to never use Dupli Color clear coat ever again. I am going to re-do it with 2k clear from Spray Max.
20210311_170023.jpg

Parts of it looked good , the rest had no coverage. It is just a crappy brand of clear. The paint however looked fine.
Took the 37s to the shop today and got them mounted and balanced. Got home, put em on. They look sick against the black paint.
