Welcome, looks good.

pretty bad ass

I bet it goes scary fast for a 40!

That 427 has a nice lope to it, sounds sweet..

You in Alaska?

Very good looking rig. I gotta ask though, all that work and money and no cage and a carb?

Very good looking rig. I gotta ask though, all that work and money and no cage and a carb?

The cage I did consider and may eventually put one in after I start wheeling her and get over not wanting to damage her. For now until I get my feet wet in the whole off roading experience I am going to be taking baby steps in my four wheel events trying to stay on level one-three trails. I have already told myself I built this thing to have fun, not to sit in the garage, but considering I have been waiting seven years for her I will be taking it easy on her for a little anyway. So I would proably say eventually she will see a cage and maybe a spring over or coil set up depending how badly this off road bug bites me. As for the carb until it starts giving me problems wheeling, which at first should be fine on level one-three trails I will stay with it, just recently Bill Mitchell has a fuel injected system that will bolt on this 427. I purchased this motor new as a complete unit three years ago, at the time there was no fuel injection option from Bill Michell and if I was going to go with a bowtie crate with fuel injection with about the same horsepower the bowtie cylinder walls are much thinner than a casted block from Bill Mitchell and the water ports are much larger making this block very streetable with excellent cooling and with plenty of motor to work with for future bores if necessary. Here's a good article on the motor from Hot Rod Magazine: http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/427ci_small_block_review/index.html As far as this small blocks go its a reliable street motor with lots of ponies with plenty of playing room. With all that said thats why I choose a Bill Mitchell over a bowtie or any other small block. At the time the carb was worth the trade off for a very durable motor that i can drive 4hrs to the beach if I want. It would of been nice if the fuel injections were available from Bill Mitchell at the time but I guess it will have to be a future upgrade.

Very nice FJ. I say it will take a little time to get used to that much power under toe before hitting the serious trails.

Nice,
That engine sounds pretty hot.
