SHE HAS MOVED! I finally got around to moving my truck from the corner onto the lift! I mounted 2 of the tires on wheels and bolted them up to the rear axle and it will roll as long as the front is supported.

Here she sits on the lift now

I also assembled a dummy set of cases to mate to my R151F.
Picture234-1.jpg

I also went ahead and put the new bearing on my MC 23spline input gear

I am hoping to go get the engine(again) tomorrow or Thursday. Now starts the daunting task of installing the 3.4 and trans/cases.

Unbreakable, I forgot you were in NC. Is this the kind of stuff you do for a living? Can you bend and weld 2" stainless steel tubing?

Nope, I'm an electrician by day, fab guy by night and weekends. As for bending 2"...can't do it...I don't have a die for it.....and I can't weld stainless either(I don't have the TIG setup for my welder yet)
I can bend 1 3/4" like a maniac though.
Hey check us out at www.ncttora.com I can promise you that we are NOTHING like the national board.
If you need some work done call 828-446-6749 Justin

Dang, it seems to be impossible to find someone who can weld or bend SS...

I'll lurk the NCTTOR board, seems to be more trail active than the NC board here.

MORE PROGRESS! First I removed the old engine mounts(7MGTE) and ground off the slag from it and the old shock hoops. Next I removed the cab from the frame. I did this b/c it'll make the engine, trans and cases swap go easier. I AM GOING TOMORROW TO GET MY 3.4L!

Once I had the cab and frame seperated I pulled the frame to the front of the shop and set it up on jackstands

H1's make it so easy to remove a tire from the wheel
Picture285.jpg

As soon as the weather clears up some I'm going to spray the bottom of my cab with SIMS(like Line-x but better)

I got an engine today! 68K miles...2000 Model Tacoma V-6 3400. I also picked up a R150F bellhousing so I can mate my R151f to it.

BLING! R151F Attached to dual cases with a clocked adapter!
Picture237-1.jpg

And here they are in all their glory! 3.4L, R151F, Dual clocked cases. I already found them a home too!

Damn! Thats what i call a drivetrain, that is long as hell! Are your driveshafts gonna be about equal length or what?

BTW, since youre a marlin distributor now, you should let him know how important it is to make a doubler for a 62 with an slushbox :D .

and I can't weld stainless either(I don't have the TIG setup for my welder yet)

I don't mean to hijack, but all you need for stainless is a mig with stainless wire or with stainless stick on a stick welder. AFAIK you can weld stainless with regular wire but it kinda defeats the purpose of using stainless.

Great build up. Keep up the work and keep posting pics!

Plates are done! I'll have them here on Monday. I'll also have another cab here to chop up and use for all my mock-up(cases, cage, engine, etc).
My plan is to cut the top out of the other cab so I can get all my interior cage pefectly figured out before I go hacking into my good cab...and the same goes for my cases...

I got a decent amount done today...alot of small stuff but it was time comsuming and I need to get some parts put together so they take up less space
This past weekend I picked up my runflats for my H1's(I forgot them in Charlotte about 4 months ago)
Picture-3.jpg

They take up quite a bit of space and I needed to put them somewhere where they take up less of it. So, what better place to put them besides where they go.

Inside the tires
The next daunting task was to grind the slag out of my wheels from where I removed the 8-lug centers. I am gonna get them sandblasted this week so I can assemble the whole wheel and get that out of my way
Picture281.jpg

After
Picture286-1.jpg

Picture284-1.jpg

In order to get a nice clean edge it took this
Picture285-1.jpg

A s***-ton of grinder discs and flap discs
The pile of dust that was left behind
Picture283-1.jpg

I also got around to do some welding on the bedcage in places I couldn't get to with the cab on
Picture287.jpg

Picture288.jpg

Picture286.jpg

I am going to get some 1 1/4 DOM in a day or two to make some pieces in the bed. I also have to get some 1 1/2 DOM for the cage and another project.

The plates for my interior cage are here so I guess I can start on that soon
Picture-2.jpg

I also started trying to locate where my engine goes in relation to the frame: PITA(pain in the ass)
Picture239-1.jpg

I've got to fix this ear on my engine...it was busted when I got it and it is where the motor mount goes...I'm going to weld a stud in there
