On a lighter note and to step away from this madness --- spiffy lil' watercraft you got there... it for fishing (I hope) or just puttering about rivers n lakes?

Fishing... streams are extremely scarce in Southern Nevada... I used to fly fish several lakes and reservoirs (fins and oars), before my back got so bad... It's been a couple of years... Now that my back is good, I'm getting back out there... Still with fins and oars... The motor is merely to ensure I can beat the afternoon headwind back to my truck... So, I'll only use a 2.9ah battery... Gotta make sure Chester is comfortable on the back.

Here's Chester trying it out... I took him out once and had to fight like hell to beat the headwind... Ive got pictures somewhere of Gunner fishing with me.

Ah... very good! Chester's a lucky dog :)

Speaking of man's best friend... if you've not seen it, get the movie "A Dog's Purpose" - good story and likely will hit home with a guy like yourself... that takes especially good care of his furry friend!

I was surprised to learn that Dianna, our daughters and I are STILL prohibited from giving blood... We left The Netherlands in 1986... And still are at risk for transmitting Mad Cow, via transfusions.

Prohibited if:

You were a member of the of the U.S. military, a civilian military employee, or a dependent of a member of the U.S. military who spent a total time of 6 months on or associated with a military base in any of the following areas during the specified time frames

  • From 1980 through 1990 - Belgium, the Netherlands (Holland), or Germany
  • From 1980 through 1996 - Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Italy or Greece.
My wife and I are also part of that. Never give blood, ever.

BTW, I lied. I'm not coming home in Feb. I'm coming home in a few weeks instead. Life is too short.

You're so excited, you're starting to echo!!

Come on home... Life is definitely too short!!

You have a lovely Wife and a lovely Pig at home... Both need attention!!

Congratulations Drew!!

Glad your to hear your both safe and sound. Nice little boat you have there! Life is good when all you have to do is figure out where your going fishing and trailing. :hmm:

Yep!!

But, I was told last night that Dianna is going to paint our bedroom, changing the look of everything.

So, today, I'm building a new headboard... and Chester is not happy...

We'll just delay a day or two.

Chester needs a pup.

Intuitive much?!?

Dianna has decided to go with a smaller version (35 lbs)... With much less shedding... and has found a litter of GoldenDoodles... She has 2nd male pick and will pick Chester's little brother the end of this month.

We're very excited... Gotta hurry and get the nursery ready!!

He's one of the males in this litter.

Can’t wait to see you with them, Chester and his new buddy, on the road.
Enjoy.

Thanks!!

It will be a couple of months before Chester's little buddy can make a trip... But, Chester and I will be going out by Monday... I hope!!

I didn't realize how much I've added to 44, until I start trying to prettify the wiring in the engine compartment... All this takes its own wiring.

1. Fuel system components: Pollak 6-port Switching Valve; Oil Pressure Safety Switch; Dual Carter Fuel Pumps; DPDT tank selector switch.

2. D.U.I.: removed: coil and igniter. Added: 30A circuit breaker and 30A relay. Modified, to eliminate use of Yazaki Resistor Wire.

3. Aux Fuse Box: 30A Circuit Breaker; 30A Fuse Box (under glovebox); several relays and switches, for off road lights, front, rear and side. Also, for fuel pressure switch and carb cooling fan.

4. Compressor: 30A inline fuse and switch.

5. Towing harness, for towing 44.

6. Rear towing harness, for towing with 44. Or, carrying a hitch reliever cargo carrier.

7. Ignition interrupt and hood latch.

8. Power distribution Center (buss bar), for powering: Aux Fuse Box, Dissy, Compressor, Hood Latch, Tach, etc.

9. Harbor freight winch.

10. Battery Cutoff Switch

So, I say I cleaned up my wiring... Others will likely say, it's still messy... But, I'm happy!!

Well... I bought a WeBoost 4G-X OTR (trucker version) cell signal booster... Primarily to make Dianna a happy camper... she likes to remain "connected", when camping... and wants to know when WWIII starts... I'd rather not know...

So, I figgered I could share it between vehicles by (buying 2 exterior antennas) and simply moving the interior antenna and booster to the active vehicle... It can't hurt to have more cell connectivity in the bush... Of course, a booster only 'boosts' a signal... Whenever there's no signal to boost...

I have 30 days to decide if I want to keep it, so I've set up a temporary mount on 44... On the Hi-Lift Jack... I want to be able to get in and out of the garage, with this ICBM onboard... I can raise it in the great outdoors, should the need arise.

It looks like I could also lull it off and use it as a weapon... A club... Or, even, an RPG...

Chester and I are going out Monday, for a couple of nights... Gotta be home for Dianna's birthday... So, this will be the first (beta) test of the booster.

Ugly, huh? :moon:

I look at this and can hear ‘Q’ explaining to Bond what all this is capable of doing in a tight spot....

Looks good to me but..... heater??? Never mind, you have Chester!

Heater, @imyahucklbrry?

This is Las Vegas... It comes with its own natural heating :D

It's 44... It comes with its own natural heating :p

I've driven 44, in the snow, at 7k' and never got cold :grinpimp:

I've camped in the winter, sleeping in 44, at 7k', and never gotten cold... Except when taking a leak ... I have a zero degree sleeping bag, heavy blankets and, as you said, Chester... The best natural heat source yet!!

If we had humidity, I might need a defroster... But, I generally have the window down and the floor vents open anyway.

I may come to regret removing the heaters, if I ever get into different weather conditions... But, I needed the space for more important "stuff" ;)
