Yeah, but this time I really mean it. I promise! ;)
Yep, bin there done that never worked out like it was planned.:hillbilly:

Well... 44's vacuum advance is starting to fail... Rather than buy another old one or, try to rebuild this one, using PlastiDip, I decided to buy a D.U.I. And LiveWire plug wires. I'll try fixing the old vac advance and put my old dissy away, with the coil and igniter.

Given all the crap I've added and the associated rats nest of wires, I had to remove the battery and tray (this has become a sort of infinite loop, of late) and my compressor... Just to keep from having to remove the Pollak switching valve and all the associated hoses and wires.

Once I had the dissy out and the D.U.I. in, I decided to cleanup the wire rats nest... I'm awaiting the delivery of a new buss bar and circuit breaker, so I have time to prettify anyway.

I spent Saturday pulling wires, wrapping wires and tying wires and labeling wires. Sunday, I couldn't open my old, arthritic hands... I take 600mg of Advil every 6 hours and it wasn't helping... I rubbed them down with a topical compound, prescribed for my back, by an orthopedist and it wasn't helping...

Everyone who knows me best, knows that just bumping my bald head, will put me into the I.C.U.... Low pain threshold... So, I was whining a LOT!

My thumbs were also splitting, so I went out to 44 and found my O'Keefe's Working Hands hand cream... To moisturize my dry hands, before the pain made me pass out.

Later, Sunday evening, I realized my hands didn't hit at all... That was odd... It had men months, nay years, since my hands didn't hurt at all!! I couldn't figure out what changed... Then I thought of the O'Keefe's and tried it again, over the next two days... With the same result!! No pain... even with all the electrical work I've been doing!! :bounce:

I have no idea why this helped... But, I don't look gift horses in the mouth...

So now, as soon as the buss bar and circuit breaker arrives, I can finish my beautification and D.U.I. install... Or, maybe I will do a full frame off... :hmm:

I'm just glad I had Chester there to help!!

Where might one find this magic elixer for the hands of which you speak?

Anywhere you can find working men, with working hands... like Bed Bath and Beyond (that's where Dianna bought it).

But, I've seen it at Lowes and Home Depot and on Amazon, Duluth Trading and from O'Keefe.

Hopefully you are safe and sound and were nowhere near the strip last night? Give a shout...

Safe and sound - thanks for asking!!

Not a fan of crowds, country music... Or, being up after 9pm... :giggle:

I woke up at 2am and saw it when there were 2 dead and 20+ injured... Got up at daylight and saw 50+ dead and 400+ injured... turned off the TV and went out to the garage to forget about all the s*** of the present day and set up the trolling motor mount on my pontoon.

I've seen @mrboatman online today... How about @allan man @redrock @jetranger and anyone else from Vegas?

All good here we also don’t do large crowd events. Wife has friends who’s kids were shot but will be okay

Ah... good to hear! Unbelievable is all I can muster about this for now...

Finished cleaning up wiring, under the hood... But, I don't like the buss bar I selected, so I've ordered another and will install it when I gets here tomorrow (?) and take a 'money shot' then, as @waiting for time always says... I think it's Michael... Could be Doc...

Also, installed my new D.U.I. and LiveWires (plug wires) and set the spark plug gap to .055", timing to ~12* BTDC and found I now have ~20" of vacuum... Never more that 17.5" before... Starts immediately and runs very well in the garage. Gonna take a drive this week and see how she acts.

Not nearly as pretty, under the hood, as others'... But, I'm happy to have the main stuff wrapped, for heat shielding, and labeled, for Old Danny.

I forgot how good 44 looks with the hood closed... Especially with Chester profiling!!

Good to hear!!

Our eldest daughter has friends who were in the middle of a group that were shot, but they were fortunate to escape unscathed... Physically.

Her boyfriend is one of the guys who set up and tear down these events... He would have been there, but he's down with the flu... At 6'7" and 270, he would have presented a large target... But, I don't think the shooter was shooting at targets anyway... Just holding the trigger down and spraying the crowd.

I remember when Charles Whitman killed 16 (a 17th died later) in Austin, TX, in August of '66... That was a lot of dead in '66...

Thanks Danny all is well here spoke to jetranger this morning

I was surprised to learn that Dianna, our daughters and I are STILL prohibited from giving blood... We left The Netherlands in 1986... And still are at risk for transmitting Mad Cow, via transfusions.

Prohibited if:

You were a member of the of the U.S. military, a civilian military employee, or a dependent of a member of the U.S. military who spent a total time of 6 months on or associated with a military base in any of the following areas during the specified time frames

  • From 1980 through 1990 - Belgium, the Netherlands (Holland), or Germany
  • From 1980 through 1996 - Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Italy or Greece.

Wow that’s shocking being the time frame. It is pretty impressive the amount of people donating blood in Vegas right now.

... And the Sheriff's fund has already surpassed $1M in donations.

I hope everyone doesn't forget Puerto Rico...
