Well... 44's vacuum advance is starting to fail... Rather than buy another old one or, try to rebuild this one, using PlastiDip, I decided to buy a D.U.I. And LiveWire plug wires. I'll try fixing the old vac advance and put my old dissy away, with the coil and igniter.
Given all the crap I've added and the associated rats nest of wires, I had to remove the battery and tray (this has become a sort of infinite loop, of late) and my compressor... Just to keep from having to remove the Pollak switching valve and all the associated hoses and wires.
Once I had the dissy out and the D.U.I. in, I decided to cleanup the wire rats nest... I'm awaiting the delivery of a new buss bar and circuit breaker, so I have time to prettify anyway.
I spent Saturday pulling wires, wrapping wires and tying wires and labeling wires. Sunday, I couldn't open my old, arthritic hands... I take 600mg of Advil every 6 hours and it wasn't helping... I rubbed them down with a topical compound, prescribed for my back, by an orthopedist and it wasn't helping...
Everyone who knows me best, knows that just bumping my bald head, will put me into the I.C.U.... Low pain threshold... So, I was whining a LOT!
My thumbs were also splitting, so I went out to 44 and found my O'Keefe's Working Hands hand cream... To moisturize my dry hands, before the pain made me pass out.
Later, Sunday evening, I realized my hands didn't hit at all... That was odd... It had men months, nay years, since my hands didn't hurt at all!! I couldn't figure out what changed... Then I thought of the O'Keefe's and tried it again, over the next two days... With the same result!! No pain... even with all the electrical work I've been doing!!
I have no idea why this helped... But, I don't look gift horses in the mouth...
So now, as soon as the buss bar and circuit breaker arrives, I can finish my beautification and D.U.I. install... Or, maybe I will do a full frame off...
I'm just glad I had Chester there to help!!
