Soundproofing stickon alloy/tar stuff awesome on roof cannot hear the rain also appears to cool cabin down did my troopy with it cost me over 300usd 10 pieces and a few hours to do

Found a leak this morning after heavy rain yesterday, had to dry out the underlay, very annoying! There's a gap in the door seal and I have new ones on order so will plug that for now. More worrying were the little puddles at the back of the dash which could only have come from the windscreen seal or the seal 1978HJ45 pointed out. Will probably use a bead of sealant to try and stop it happening again.

New seals are on and no evidence of any leaks so far.

Painted the jack and the tool bag, came up OK.

Started to clean up the hubs. I'm gonna paint the inside black and the outside black and gold and leave the middle as it is as it came up pretty well.

I've put the tray back on but I'm not happy with the polished aluminium so gonna paint it white eventually.

Need to fix a bracket for the spare wheel, anyone done this? Any tips?

Better get some rear mudflaps to keep the defect sticker away

Funny you should mention that. I dropped my daughter off to meet some friends today and one of the Mums is a policewoman and she was there in uniform and she looked at the truck a bit funny, must have been the flaps. Lucky our kids are friends....

Need to fix a bracket for the spare wheel, anyone done this? Any tips?

This is the factory tub setup which includes the structure at that bottom to prevent the tire from moving side to side. Hope it helps.

Thanks, I'd like to get something similar to a hub like you see on the rear door of 4WDs so that I can use a locking wheel nut to secure the spare wheel.

You can't see it in my crappy photo but there is a hole drilled in the extended bolt that allows me to insert a pad lock. With the lock in place the spare tire can't be removed ( without a lot of effort ).

Spoke to an aluminium trailer manufacturer today. He quoted me $150 to make and fit a bracket for the spare and supply and fit two checker plate wheel arches. I think that's a great price.

Thanks, I looked at one of these but I can't mount it where I want it on my tray.

Found a leak on the transfer case. Looks like it might be coming from this torn rubber. Is this rubber the 4WD selector boot? I want to make sure I go looking for the right part

Car had full service today. All it needed was new inner axle oil seals and hub seals for the rear axle. Apparently the oil leak was washing out the bearing grease. Other than that she went through without a hitch. Brakes all good. changed the engine, transmission and transfer fluids. Front hub all good.
Mechanic recommended replacement of the welsh plugs and a new handbrake cable.

Oh and the boot above was only half of the problem, the leak is coming from the seal inside which has been destroyed. Getting that replaced next week.
