Necessary, nah not really. Not to mention the quality of these are only so-so. I have a bad feeling that the "rubber" is going to get chocky after being in the sun a short while because the material is not real rubber, it is kinda gummy, like silicone. Just like the wing window gasket material that I purchase and returned a while ago.
I will snap a photo of the handle gaskets up close and installed. They look pretty good for now and I hope they last.

I may have asked this before but where did you get the wing window rubber?
I am reusing my OEM wing window rubber. Its not perfect but good enough.
A while back I did fork out the cash and purchased a pair from SloCruiser.com but sadly returned the pair due to the quality.

I had purchased new screws to go with the wing window assembly and fixed window frame on the rear doors. The only M4 screws avalible were a bit too long so I had to shorten them a little.

Just a few pics of what Im working with.
They're not great but not the end of the world either.

I have used Folgers plastic lids and traced the outline...just to have something that prevented metal on metal. Not exactly an ICON level rebuild in my case.

Never did have a key to fit these front door locks. Had a key blank given to me many months ago by DTC72 (thanks buddy!) and I tried to have a local, reputable, locksmith make the key work but he was unable and even destroyed one of locks in the process.
So.... I found this GM lock and key set w/rear window key switch at Jegs.com and decided to give it go. Not at all prfect but was to be expected. The "transfer bar" when on the OEM is a good fit with little to no slop but on the GM there is a lot of slop. I decided to fill in the void weld and then remove metal until satisfied. So far so good. Should have this install wrapped up in a day or two.

I also wanted to address the front door "latching spurs?"
Found some 3/8 x 1.250 fender washers and opened up the center hole to 15/32" .4655" (.452" is the size of the spur shaft). Cut away the worn out part and welded in the washer.
