The front seat bench seat had an ashtray in the rear of the backrest. I will most likely put it back in. I have not sean another front seat with an ashtray.
Does anyone know what years this was an option? I have search but was unable to find any info, thanks.

My 1969 had an ashtray in the back of the seat also. It’s pretty big too at least compared to the one that was in the front. I went back and forth about keeping it or not. In the end I left it out.

Curious about the location of the mount point for the shoulder belt in the front row? My 1969 had an existing mount point in a very weird point : above the second row window. Did you relocate yours or was that where it originally was on your ‘69?

Shoulder belt from factory is above 2nd row window as you mentioned.
I drilled, tapped & welded in the new mounting location on the B-pillar. Not really sure why I did it... for cosmetic reasons I guess.

The shoulder belt mounting point needs to be behind the seat when the seat is all the way back, otherwise it won't hold you to the seat when it needs to.

Note the position of the seat relative to the pillar, if the shoulder belt is located there, you'll go forward about a foot before it restrains you.

I don't think a '69 had retractable belts either, my 10/72 the shoulder portion is fixed and removable via keyed notch in the buckle.

Back in the early 70's no one used the shoulder restraint much less seat belts. The shoulder restraint was tucked up in the roof never to be used. If there was a seat belt buzzer, the buzzer was removed or the male and female seat belt ends were connected together to turn off the buzzer and light, then they were sat on. FYI

You are absolutely correct.
I pulled my shoulder belt assemblies from a buddy's old brokedown Izuzu Tracker.

I may have used my 'fixed' shoulder belt twice over the last twenty years...my 72 mustang had them too (first car I bought back in '86?) If I used the shoulder belt as designed, I couldn't reach the radio  . My pig doesn't have a radio, but it's still annoying being pinned to the seat...annoying but safe. I've not looked at a later model with retractable belts, but I assume the mechanism mounts down on the B-pillar and the 'second point' is behind the seat as well?

Im not sure either. What I did was I welded in an attachment point about 2" up from the bottum of the B Pillar.

Also, I wanted to correct what I said earlier about the vehicle I pulled mine from. They are out of a Izuzu trooper, not a "tracker". 🙃

Very Nice!! I really like the early early Toyota badging. One of my favorite things about my 1969.
