Starting to look like a engine again! Thanks to a couple of head bolt installation assistants.
That is great progress and I love seeing your kids helping!

Been working on the engine some more as well as reinforcing the frame where the fj60 power steering gear box will sit. I'm sure it's over kill but what the hell. I would rather not ever worry about it.

You are talented....im jealous....keep it up!

Wheel offset

Great work you're doing! I noticed you bought 15x8 wheels, what backspacing are they? Or possibly the exact part number...

Finally got my camshaft (250s grind) and re ground lifters back from delta cams yesterday. :) got the gear pressed on and will finish up the motor build soon. The cam took longer than expected because I shipped them my cam and all 12 lifters. But apparently FedEx only delivered my cam and just 6 lifters!!
So I pulled the lifters out of my old f motor and shipped them off. In the meantime I have been building a few things. Made some air rail plugs, made a EGR block off for the intake. Also Installed my power steering gearbox, column, shaft. And put on the ford shock towers.

Stabbed it. Well..... The carb from the 2f will not fit with my brake booster/master. My f carb will clear though. I guess I will have to run that.

Where did you buy that parking brake?, BTW subscribed. Your rig is looking good Alvaro
Thanks!
I'm installing a 4 speed trans and split case transfer case into my 1965 FJ40. I took the trans & T/C out of a 1984 FJ60 Of course my 40 had the drum on the t/c for the parking brake and the 60 does not. So what to do. Well after some searching found out they did make a factory drum setup for some models. But has been discontinued and is very hard and expensive to come by. So that option was out. I could go with the the Cadillac Eldorado rear calipers. But I had just done my rear disc conversion. With all new parts and felt that would be a waste. And if I went that route I would be in it all said and done 500ish. With calipers, brackets, core charges, cables ect ect. And I heard they still did not hold that well.

So I wanted something different. And I could not find a company that made anything for me at a reasonable price. But I did find All Pro off Road made a disc brake manual parking brake for Toyota trucks and 4 Runners. I called them and asked if it would fit a FJ60 and they said they where not sure???

Well looking at the rotor they offered, it had several bolt patterns drilled into it and figured I would find a way to make it work. I ordered just the caliper and the rotor from them and figured I would just make my own bracket.
Once I got them I found one of the bolt patterns was perfect but was just to small of a hole to fit over the studs on my flange. So I drilled them out to the right size on the drill press and it slid right on! Sweet!! I will now need to make a bracket and figure out the cable set up and hope it works well.

The part numbers I used is

Rotor 5204-AP $29.99
Caliper 5206-AP-10024 $99.99

Thanks!

I've a 1984 FJ40 with 4 speed. How do I know if it's similar to the Fj60?

An 84 FJ40 SHOULD have a rear axle parking brake like the FJ60.... no?
