Got the lift and 33s on. The old tires looked like they barely got me the 5 miles to my parents house to install the lift. Wouldnt have been save to drive for long. But she runs GREAT, especially after I hooked up the vacuum advance :D. Absolutely LOVE IT!!! :steer: Strong arm steering and manual brakes really arent that bad, even after the 33's. It pulls a little braking hard, have to do some adjustments today. Without further delay.... some pretty pics of the beast:

Great looking early 40 you have there, the body looks amazingly straight and rust free  Got any pics of the interior?

Pics of interior as requested. Also washed the outside and engine. Outside cleaned up pretty good. Some of the surface rust wiped off, and wiping the paint around filled in some of the cracks :D. I may never wash it like that again (unless it gets repainted) as I dont want to wipe all the paint off.

Looking good...just remember to keep the parts you take off :D

The only thing I have thrown away were the original shocks and shackles. Shocks were pretty shot and the shackle pins were so rusted they were not oven close to round, and mangled and mushroomed them pounding them out.

By the way, what are those little bracket/rods for that are dangling near the top hinge of the bifold door? Are they to lock the door closed somehow?

You might be surprised but the original shocks might have been worth something to somebody. Someone trying to do a 100% restore would have been happy to get any old OEM shocks that the housing weren't rusted. Shackles didn't get replaces near as often as shocks and are much easier to find.

The housing was very rusted actually, although not completely rusted through anywhere I do not believe. Guess they prolly could be sandblasted. I believe they are still in the bottom of my parents trashcan if anyone wants them I could dig em out.

Those rods are to hold the bi-fold in place when you open it up; especially if you are driving around with it open. There should be hooks on either side of the bottom bi-fold door that hook into the rods. HTH

And again you have an awesome looking early cruiser there, it appears to be a true "survior"

Just don't go offroading with the bifold up and latched with those little holders. The weight will bend those. DAMHIK

Not interested myself but I guess it would depend on how rusted the housings are. If their pitted badly and you can't make out the stamped Toyota and Toyota part number probably not worth saving.

Plus if I remember correctly it attached with a little eyebolt and nut to the thin rain gutter which will bend if you start bouncing around.

I think 67azcruiser(Sean) was looking for oem shocks! Nice early rig, reminds me of a 63 I picked up about 10 years ago,I like to call them creampuffs!

I was thinking the same thing but these may have the part numbers from the system started in 63. I believe he is looking for the older ones with non ten digit part numbers.
