Progress is slooow right now and its killin me :D I dont get any time to work on it durring the week.So I spend my weekdays making parts and getting stuff together for the weekend.I have spent the past two Saturdays doing nothing but wiring pretty much.I got my fuel tank, sender, and straps. It was all going to go in this weekend but I forgot the rubber that I had cut that goes between the tank and frame at work.

And on a fuel tank note, the Toyota fill door is on the drivers side and I want to use it.I thought I was going to have to relocate the filler on the tank but I dont. The 25 gallon tank I got is flat on the bottom and pretty much square so I can just flip it 180 so the filler is going the right way.The Toy filler is about 2" in diameter and the Chevy is 1.5"ish.So I cut the end off of my Blazer filler and tigged it to the Toy filler so I didnt have to rig some funky reducer.Sorry for the washed out pic :D

If you have cooling issues.... the Lincoln Mark VIII fan pulls something like 5,000cfm. It is an amp hungry beast and not low profile.

Very cool rig! I really am envious of your friend's "garage/shop." Wish it were mine. :D

I dont think I will have any cooling problems (I hope :D) The rad in the Chevy was a 2 core, about 10" or so wider, but the electric fan I had on it only covered about 75% of it.So Im thinkin a fat two core aluminum rad with 100% coverage with the shroud I made should do the trick.

I went with these fans bacause of their height. From the snout on the water pump to the rad is about 3.5".All of the good CFM single fans are 4+ tall.

That shop is kick ass :grinpimp: I would have a hard time with this project without it.

I have a 144 ci blower that I got for cheap. But after much thought I dont think Im going to put it on,yet. My motor has 300k+,Im not sure it would like it :D But it would be sweet.I will wait til I get a new motor and run it on it.

the spider

here are some pics of my blazota project that was done back in 1992 or so. the green 55 in this thread was mine back then too. strange that it would have the same fate as the spider truck.

the spider was hit by a semi and the frame was ruined. that incident sparked the blazota project.

enjoy,

heres a few more

ramps pretty well with the stock rear chevy leafs and 55 rears in front. 38.5x11x16 boggers look a little small.

my buddy dom, who bought the green 55 (in this thread) from me named it 'guacamole' before ken hanna bought it. it changed hands again before it got the blazer chassis.

Hey!!:D

Glad to see you post up.I saw video of that thing on the Con before I bought this one.Guess you are the guy Ken was telling me about. He said he had helped a guy do that swap along time ago but couldnt remember alot of the details I was asking about.

And it is sort of funny that this one would meet the same fate. You still have it?

Chris.

I scored a free RE12000 and it came with a pretty stout mount. So I sort of added to it to fit the front of the frame because it was too narrow. Its a little lighter than I would like but we will see I guess (its all 1/2" ;p )
