***One thing to know about me if there's anything worth knowing via this forum is that I can't stand OEM wheel/suspension setups as they're putrid engineering/aesthetic concessions staring straight at you in your face***

I picked up a black on black w/ 5 fresh miles on the odo a couple of weeks ago. Though I've owned lifted Toyota trucks before (4Runner; GX470), I've never had the interest to trail them, but this will change w/ the LC even if it's 1% of the driving that I do. I actually owned a couple of 510hp Range Rovers within the past three years, but I'm over it. They do 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and drove great, but end of day, I just couldn't trust 'em for the long-tail, no character and ubiquitous in my part of town.

Plus I've always appreciated the LC heritage. My hs buddy rolled an FJ80 back in high school. Been in love since then, but gravitated more towards small/fast motorsport cars than lifted trucks.

Caveat is this will likely be your most boring build as I only really want/need a basic 2.5" lift with bigger tires. Maybe someday I'll go 38s plus flares in Iceland (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oAD-mOIXcs), but that's literally and figuratively oceans apart at this juncture.

I'm essentially replicating 5forfighting's build. The moment I laid eyes on his results I had to get an LC. Thanks to him for that.

The only mods to date are the following:

-Clearplex windshield film (saved me a couple of times on my other rides)

-3M paint protection film for the front-end

-3M 20% front window tint

Parts on order:

-325/60/18 Toyo AT2 Xtreme (aka streamrollers)
-18x9 Method Double Standards 25+ offset
-ICON front adjustable coilovers
-OME 61029 shocks
-OME 2722 springs

I'm hoping to have everything installed by end of week so I can pop my trail cherry this weekend.

Not intentially being surreptitious here, but given you can images search stock 200 series pics all day, I'll post mine up once it's all sorted.

Thanks!

be careful with the clear coat on the trail. Black is a killer for pin striping. Maybe consider more 3m down the flanks. Just a thought..

you're going to love that truck.

Yikes - thanks for looking out my friend. Very bored with it atm. I have a certain disdain for rolling stock, no offense to others who *choose* to run them this way. I can hardly wait!

How are you liking your Radflos? I definitely considered them.

We need to see pics!

Before, during and after.

Remember - pics or it didn't happen ;)

Very much looking forward to pics as well!

Might as well get a bumper or two if you really plan to go off road. Most of the pin strips buff out. Sliders worth ever penny. image-1162690601.webp

Don't worry about THEROK... He's got plans for a bumper.

325s require more than trimming plastic. Need to concede. Have some feedback on a southern Cali vendor to avoid. More to come.

Did you install the wheels? If so, where was the rub, this size seems quite close (as in may work, but with some concessions).

The wheel and tire combo is probably too close to the UCA, which will cause rub. The other issue is the tire rubbing the front quarter panel behind the front wheel (nothing you can do as far as trimming in that area once the mudflap is off, it would look ugly and butchered).

They should be ok in the front given you trim up the inner splash guard. I had to with the following:

18x9, -12offset with BFG ATs 285/65/18

Unfortunately these rigs with the IFS aren't really compatible with wide tires. The biggest I ever had on were General Grabbers in the 33" size on 17" wheels. They were about 12.5" wide on TRD rims. Nice set-up, but about as much as you could squeeze under the front with a 2" lift. Great tires...until the snow fell.

The following link to an image is for the Lexus Baja truck...he has either 34s or 35s on and has done some significant trimming for them to fit in the front. Unfortunately there is no other way. Have a look closely at his front quarter panel and specifically in front and behind the front wheel.

By the way...love the Method rims!

I wonder if those method rims will fit a 100 series. They are great looking.

They are at their aesthetic best wrapped with bacon

In all seriousness, so long as the 100s have the same bolt pattern (5x150) you should be fine.

Honestly, if I didn't use such wide tires, I'd want a bit less offset as I like a bit of poke for a bit of aggression. Else with 285s I'd be sitting pretty flush. 18+ would probably be max I'd go for on a 9" wheel on the 200 series. Anything less is too narrow in my eyes. Not sure how spacing goes on the 100s. Sorry!

The methods balanced nicely. One of the fronts required zero weights.

I drove about 15 miles to the tire shop from dealership and noticed that when I brake abruptly the rear end makes this click/clack noise. The tire shop guy verified that the top shock nuts were very loose both sides. After he tightened no noise.

Ten miles later driving through pock marked downtown streets, in the rougher stuff the click/clackity noise returned.

Any idea what could be causing this? Rear is ome shocks and springs. Many thanks.

Are the rear springs twisted into place correctly? Do you have the springs on the correct sides?
