Nice mods. I would really like to have a light there.

Thanks. I've had the light forever and finally just dove in. I was really nervous about cutting into my rig, but it's only plastic and it turned out cool. Go for it.

Not too bad IMO. I don't do any heavy wheeling but even if I they could be worked with/around or whatever.

Most productive weekend ever. I guess when you do a lot of little things you feel you accomplish more.

Got my washer bottle relocated. Cheap hack job which is how I roll, Simpson strap idea and some helpful measurements from Arizona Jeff here on the forum (much thanks). Again just following Mudders who've paved the way. I did move the cruise control and diagnostic box to have more room. Not sure if this is ok but didn't seem it was vital they stay where they were. I did solder the wire extensions, gave me good practice...still no good at it. Nothing touching where it shouldn't and seems solid enough.

Getting close, dual batteries! New toys from Camelback Toys here in town. That tray was tougher than I thought it'd be to get in and get the holes lined up. But I won this round. Total guess job on the trimming, close enough. Have everything else on it's way. Probably won't be able to afford the battery now...space good for some road trip storage at least.

Waiting on some parts to finish up the inverter, center console currently removed (just a test fit in the pic). It's an oldy and only 400w but will do fine for our needs, plus it was free. Won't be that professional of an install, just cut a piece of plastic (which I have in abundance from my wife's business) and mounted to fill the cd changer hole. Have a bunch of small projects to do and rushed through it. Will look ok from a distance. Maybe mess with it more down the road.

Bought a new toy for a little peace of mind. Thankfully Sierra Expeditions had one left in stock. Not sure I'll store it in the battery tray but funny how it fits perfectly. May keep it in a PS rear panel so I can put other tools, fluids in the batt tray for now.

Also got my inverter wired. Fuse location isn't premanent, will work on that after our trip. Really like the flex sleeving, makes for a clean look.

Also installed the under radiator cover. Couldn't get a good pic angle. Not sure if it's just a placebo affect but my air seemed a lot cooler on the way to/from church this morning. More air directed to the block and not losing any air movement down and away? Would it have that affect?

Finally getting around to a little documentation of our road trip this summer. We left our house on June 25 and arrived back on July 7. It encompassed over 3600 miles. We didn’t do any off roading or camping as the trip was pretty specific and our schedule pretty tight. I kept track of every tank and was pleasantly surprised at my mileage.

A brief synopsis of the trip would be this. We started at our house in Chandler on Wednesday the 25th and made our way to Sandy, UT via LV for my 12 year olds basketball tournament. Of course we stopped at the Hoover Dam. We were in Sandy for 3 days (nice place and beautiful weather). After it was done we left on Saturday and made our way to Idaho Falls for the night. Woke up Sunday morning and drove to Yellowstone, spending the entire day making our way through the park. Just amazing is all I can say. We were able to see Old Faithful and walk the Uncle Tom’s Cabin Trail. We stopped more times than I can count to take it all in. We made our way out going on the Beartooth Highway and of course through Beartooth Pass. The bad part was we got through there too late and came down the other side at night. Lots of twisties. Arrived in Miles City, MT at about 2 AM. Drove the rest of the way home the next day to my parent’s farm in ND.

Mileage breakdown:

First stop Kingman, AZ – 223.7 miles, 14.2 Gal, 15.754 MPG

Kingman to Cedar City, UT – 281 miles, 17.002 Gal, 16.527 MPG

Cedar City to Sandy, UT – 227.9 miles, 13.869 Gal, 16.432 MPG

Sandy to Idaho Falls – 270.3 miles (includes 46.8 miles during time in Sandy), 18.017 Gal, 15.002 MPG

Idaho Falls to Canyon Village (inside Yellowstone) – 198.9 miles, 12.382 Gal, 16.063 MPG

Canyon Village to Billings, MT – 176.7 miles, 9.603 Gal, 18.4 MPG (coming down Beartooth Pass!)

Billings to Dickinson, ND – 307.6 miles, 18.961 Gal, 16.223 MPG (this tank was 100% gas, $4/gal)

This was the last time filling up before heading back from the farm on 7/6. This leg:

Total trip to farm: 1915.6 miles.

7/4 left farm to go to Bismarck for 4th, same tank as previous Dickinson fill up. Fill in Max, ND – 305.6 miles, 21.44 Gal, 14.254 MPG. This tank will include Max to Bismarck, Bismarck back to farm.

7/6 left farm for trip home, filled in Max again, 281.6 miles, 19.244 Gal, 14.633 MPG

Took a different route through the heart of the Midwest down highway 83.

Max, ND to Pierre, SD – 282.5 miles, 16.366 Gal, 17.261 MPG

Pierre to N. Platte, NE – 255.4 miles, 16.153 Gal, 15.811 MPG

N. Platte – Liberal, KS – 305.1 miles, 20.554 Gal, 14.844 MPG

Liberal to Santa Rose, NM – 258.6 miles, 18.472 Gal, 14.0 MPG

Santa Rosa to Gallup, NM – 251.2 miles, 15.488 Gal, 16.219 MPG

Gallup to Home – 283.5 miles, 17.432 Gal, 16.263 MPG

Total miles this leg 1686.

Very happy with how the LX performed. Special thanks to Murf at Camelback Toyota for getting it ready.

Enjoy the pics.

To Uncle Tom's Cabin Trail. Highly recommend adding this to your list. It was a top priority for me. Heck of a climb back up those stairs, but well worth it.

A couple of these don't seem real, all taken with my Moto X. Just got lucky I guess. The canyon this trail goes to they call the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.
