I really appreciate the feed back. I like to hear that people out in the Mud community like seeing the work. I alway's try to make the truck mine and I won't let it go till it's right. I have had alot of people ask to do work but I won't take it unless it's a project that I know they will be proud of. As for the help... I will offer my knowledge and assistance whenever possible. I believe that anyone willing to attempt this kind of project has the ambition to complete it with a little help. BTW Philos, Dynasour, and Manuacho are in your neck of the woods if you ever get really stuck. But as everyone here all you got to do is ask! Thanks again and stay posted there will be more to come!!

Yeah, I've had one of their stickers on my truck since I bought her in '97

That thing is nice, man. Very nice.

Do we have a price tag on that conversion? Maybe it is back there in the postings someplace. What's that thing cost?

The Dance...

Well everyone at the Lone Star cruiser meet got to see the mistress...Reviews were all good and the drool was getting deep. Guess I need to wash it again:grinpimp:

I will be deliverying here this weekend and so far after 170 miles and a little over 1/4 tank she is running strong. Little bug on the tach bounce but other than that I am confident she is ready for MrZero.

Shout out to all who have followed the thread and posted comments. The suppliers: FIS, DOWNEY, JEG'S, SUMMIT, A A MUFFLER, TEXICAN, and last but not least my wife and kids for not beating me for being in the garage:bounce:

The delivery pics will be posted by MrZero..So thanks a bunch and hope you enjoyed the thread....More swaps to come...I just bought another 60:grinpimp::flipoff2:

Awesome thread Aintscared...too bad I have too much $$ invested into my tbi swap parts, if not, I would definitely go Vortec!!!

Great work too!

ML:beer::beer:

Thanks for the prop's. So how is your's going? The TBI will get you some good horsepower and gas mileage. Then again you could always post the parts in the for sale section and start over....with a Vortec...Nah to late to turn back now.

god, I wish I could afford a vortec for my beast. maybe in the future, down the road. I bet that thing is just going to tear.

Apparently it tears enough for Texas DPS to notice.........doesn't it RANDY?!?!!

Now this begs for the Paul Harvey "rest of the story":confused::confused::eek::eek::D:D

And now the rest of the story... Texas finest clocked me doing 81 in a 65 and decided to ask me where I was going in such a hurry.. After the long drawn out story of how I just finished the install and put new meats on it and hadn't realized I was speeding due to the change in tire size...(Insert stupid Blonde joke here) After he made me step out he looked under the hood and asked if I could do that to a Jeep:flipoff2: So I gave him a card and he sent me on my way. Jeez they want to put Vortecs in anything these days. I have the upmost respect for the State Troopers and I would never speed again:banana: I didn't know a Land Cruiser could go that fast?!:grinpimp:

wondering about a couple of things:

What was the final decision on the cooling setup? Last picutures I saw showed electric fans plus the mechanical fanwithout a shroud.

What kind of coolant temps are you seeing?

Also a good one....What was required to get the A/C working and what components did you use?

Well we decided just to leave the setup as is...Electric fan and the clutch fan. On the drive down and average speed of 75-90 I didn't see any temp over 160-175. In traffic stop and go I didn't see any temp above 190. The hoses are fabricated using the original GM ends for the compressor and the Yota hose ends for the the suction and discharge side. It is a simple mating but you do need both sets of hoses so the hose shop doesn't get lost in how to mate them and you don't need to buy additional fittings.

Well, I had the opportunity of meeting Mr. Zero tonight and checking out his sweet Vortec powered beast. The engine swap is a thing of beauty. I really liked the throaty sound of it when he was leaving. Well done iaintscared1969.
