Just traded in my 2015 LC for a 2024 Tundra Crew Max TRD off road 1794 Edition. Time for a change and more suited to my adventures having a pick up.

Here ya go

They just priced my old 2015 at Edmark Toyota in Nampa , Idaho. $49,900. Good price I think. It’s a gem but I wanted a truck.

Would you mind telling us how much they gave you on trade in for the LC?
Here are all the numbers. All I cared about was the spread. In other words what I would owe them. The truck I got was a 2024 Tundra TRD off-road 1794 edition, 4X4, crew max . I checked with multiple dealerships in the area, so I did my homework. The Tundra had a sticker of just shy of $70k. In Idaho we have a 6 percent sales tax, but, through a dealer, if you trade in you don't pay tax on the trade amount, saving me about $2600. In my case, the truck was discounted to about $65K I gave them a check for $22k and drove home. I only paid about $1300 in taxes. On their worksheet, it was $46k for the LC. So, crunch it any way you want but to me, it was like getting $52k (not paying full sticker and the trade tax credit) for LC. Which by the way I paid $60k for 6 years ago.

One month of ownership and 900 miles. Here's what I think about my 2024 Tundra 1794 Crew Max TRD off-road. The first thing is it drives and shifts great, it's smooth, powerful, and sounds good too. The interior is really incredible in terms of comfort and convenience, ergonomically right. The gas mileage is very good and the range is new to me coming out of a 200 series, that's important, especially on my long camping/fishing trips. I installed running boards, a tonneau bed cover, and a rear retractable bed step. Running boards and a bed step should be standard in my opinion. What I don't like, the sound system is weak not even close to the JBL system that was in my 2015 LC, I read others have beefed them up which I may do. I'm also not used to so much plastic on the body and bumpers. I'm having a hard time finding a place for my magnetic fly rod holder! The last thing that bugs me is all the space in the wheel wells above the tires. Looks undersized for such a big truck, kinda like a donut spare. Overall I feel like I made a good decision and knowing that there isn't a perfect vehicle I'm giving it a 9 out of 10.

This year I also moved from a 2008 Land Cruiser to a 2016 double cab. similar experiences... can't say enough about the bigger gas tank, my range is literally double compared to the 200.

and if you want to drill a couple holes, we could mount that flyrod carrier to a cab rack. ;)

I sold the fly rod holder. Ordered the Decked system that will hold all my fishing and camping gear.
