I've recently got a new job and I'll be moving in a few weeks. I'll be going on a bit of a road trip on my way there and I'm contemplating if it's worth it/possible to build a small rack on the back of my car and bringing a small motorcycle?

I have not done any serious modifications on the car (1990 SWB Landcruiser, J70) and the motrocycle is an off-brand Asian 150cc ride. I can't for the life of me find an official weight of the motorcycle (I see somewhere it says 'netweight 134kg') but I'm wondering if it's safe to mount it ? My thinking is that the 70s are bit front heavy anyway but I don't want to either stress the car or add weight that will significantly reduce my gas mileage too much as we'll be driving around 2,000-3,000km on our roadtrip/move.

It wouldn't stress the vehicle. Might get a bit of tail wag on a SWB though. Its all going to depend on how good your rear springs are. If they are the originals, they may need replacing. And you will need good shock absorbers regardless. Having so much outboard will really make the shocks work hard.
A hinged platform would be ideal as you would still be able to access the rear doors without unloading the bike.

Hitch Hauler (<$100) and some good ratchet straps, add Air Lift Springs (Amazon $100) if the rear sinks.
Harbor Freight Trailer another option.

The motorcycle mount is smart and would work fine , but I doubt that it can stand more then a week on African roads ...
What about taking off the front wheel and making a sort of clamp to fix the forks.
In this way there will be littel weight on the rear and the bike, can stand any hole,or dirt road .

Just my 2 cents .
