Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

Only wasted if you don't enjoy it.
Truth, I enjoy driving it, but I'd probably enjoy driving most anything that's comfortable on the highway. I used to love my Ram 1500 as well.

Carvana just offered me 94.5 sight unseen, so probably going to go with them. 12k more than I bought it for brand new.

Working with a dealer who is helping look at auctions for me, and I am posting sold auction prices (which are essentially trade in values) and what a dealer would base pay at auction (plus fees and shipping) to get them onto their lot. His comment was "these are unicorns" so take these with a grain of salt, but at least good intel for what people would get for trade ins. Auction market volume has died off a ton too, not what it used to be like pre-COVID and prices are of course higher.

Since I am looking 2013-2016, I will post those first

Also this guy is not currently taking new customers, so sorry to all those thirsty on prices seeing these auction prices. Kind of crazy how much info the auctions have in terms of inspections / condition ratings. Opened my eyes a bit on the whole backside of how dealers sourced vehicles pre COVID. If only I had some commercial property so I could get a cheap dealers license and spin through vehicles quickly...

Man I would love that info to source a 16+ LX, wife test drove one and felt it was quicker, felt smaller than our 16LC. So now she wants to get rid of her 14LS for one. So I'm on the hunt for a low mileage blue and Cabernet.

I think I'm most impressed that a 9 year old vehicle, 10 if you count model years, with 125k+ miles is still bringing in 30k or more at auction. Truly impressive.

Whole sale prices have been dropping steadily each week, substantial drops but dealers are in no rush to pass savings to consumers at least according to this article.

Repair costs are also sky rocketing above inflation.

Not purchase price related, but dealer related. It's not that easy, at least to do it legally. Have to actually get the license, make sure your property is zoned properly, carry insurance, research each vehicle, be prepared for scams and shady actions by the auction employees and other dealers, the vehicle is NEVER 100% as described, actually go get it (truck and trailer or pay to have it delivered), dealing with the idiot general public when selling, keep up with dealer plates, and maintaining the license. It's not all rainbows.

Can confirm. I presented data showing the vehicle i was trying to buy had dropped in perceived value roughly $5k over the last 90 days, they don’t care. Finally came to a decent deal, not great and they went back on fixing some paint issues I clearly and unequivocally stated and they agreed to at multiple price points in writing.Cost them selling my wife an $80k X7 next year over probably $500 in paint work (their shop). Figuring this one needs about $1800 in preventative maintenance as there are no records from Lexus online or in paper form.

That is super interesting. I went to look at this vehicle back in early September. Pretty clean inside but those paint issues (and inoperable front camera) pushed me to keep looking.

The camera worked when I drove it a month ago. The lack of service records showing the big things being done (ahc fluid swap, transmission fluid changed, differential fluid changed) was enough to make me keep looking at the price they were set on back then. When the deal got decently better a few weeks later I was interested with the paint gouges being corrected. Gave me another price improvement at end of month but then when I confirmed amount to bring the cashiers check, the used car sales manager said price offered was as is despite multiple texts/offers back and forth all with the written condition of the paint issues being corrected.

I've been monitoring Autotrader and all seller are dropping prices as much as $6000 at a time! I saw one with 70K miles 2013 for 49K. Still bit high but prices of used LC's are dropping. Most sellers in mud is also advertising price drops. I can wait... Not going to pay 50K for a used 10+ year old vehicle with 100K miles.

If I remember correctly the hood had a pretty good gouge near the front, the rear bumper/cover had many issues, a few small dents (hail) all over, the running boards were chewed up and some small rust spots (from impact) at the bottom (rear) of the passenger front quarter. What were you asking them to repair?

A literal free fall. This has to show up on the retail lot sooner or later........ right?

I would love to pick up a lx for 50s.
I think this shows up in private sale first. The folks that middle finger the dealer trying to hose them and can afford to make a few more payments to prove their point. At least that’s how I’m hoping it goes. Know a guy that works with dealers on the finance side of things and he thinks what we’ll see is dealers push out holding vehicles 120-150 days before they take a big write off on ones they are hung with from buying at the market peak or as it slowed down a bit but their used inventory still wasn’t where they wanted it volume wise so they paid up on some vehicles. His opinion was that “dealers never lose”, they just change the rules/game when it becomes unfavorable to make the margins they are accustomed to

They'll either hold on to them longer or 'trap trade' them with another dealer who has like inventory. Both dealers will pay one another inflated values to cover their losses and buy themselves another retail cycle. The price fall has already started. I saw a 2010 LX570 with 150K list at $24,500. Even at that price it took two weeks to sell. You just won't see dealers suddenly slash prices on aged inventory. It'll factor into how they bid new trade-ins or new auction purchases.

Take those MMR listings with a grain of salt, too. Anything under a 4.3 condition is pretty suspect and any outliers above that condition probably had announcements.
