Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

Is it the one discussed in the “amazon green alert” thread? If so, I corresponded with someone that saw it in person and said it was in very rough shape. He said it was so rough that after he flew in from out of state to purchase it, he instead decided to pass. Not sure what you’re looking for, but that was at least one buyer’s perspective.
yes! this is the one. thank you for the feedback.

As long as the PPI comes back OK, I think I'm going to pick up a 2014 LX today. Pearl white/Parchment 62k miles and the only scuff I can find on it is some curb rash on the front left rim. Interior is pristine. Dealer is asking just over $40k. Hopefully I can get it for less than $40k. They've had it for 3 weeks, so it's not urgent to move it, but they want to get it off the lot.

If it’s the one I’m thinking of, has a great service history with just under 70k miles.

Edit: Never mind, just saw you said 62k miles.

I put it in Lexus.com and it's been dealer serviced at Stevinson Lexus (Frederick and Lakewood) since new. The only thing I can't tell is if the 60k service (and AHC flush) was done. It just got new cabin air filter, engine air filter, tires, alignment and oil when they took it in on trade. I'll have to ask them for their service records to see if the flush has been done. Anything else that needs to be done at 60k I should have them check? Looks like replacing AHC fluid and replacing brake fluid are the 2 biggies?

Here's the car.

Chewbacca, As I am sure you saw, the CarFax shows a total of three accidents in 2017. Did you get details on those accidents and the repairs? Also, the CarFax suggests that it was traded in right around 60k. Call me pessimistic, but I am somewhat doubting that the Lexus dealer did the whole 60k service on their own for a vehicle that they were not going to sell as Lexus Certified. Maybe they did.... Should be easy enough to check that and possibly negotiate the AHC service as part of the deal. The multiple reported accidents would be problematic for me, but that is just me. Let us know how it goes for you.

3 accidents in 2017? I was aware of one, not 3. Where are you seeing a carfax? Anything you could PM or email to me?

Thanks. I didn't even think to check the dealer's site. I guess we'll see what the PPI says. Dealer told me the accident was a new rear bumper. But Carfax is showing 5 different incidents. Damn.
The dealership also kindly added a $599 "delivery and handling fee" to the price. I suggest refusing to pay that if you go forward with that rig.

And, Chewbacca, not sure if you saw but the same dealership also has a 2010 LX, 130k miles, asking 25k. Excellent Oklahoma Lexus dealership service records on CarFax. Looks like same color combo as the 2014 you are looking at. Good luck.

I did see that, thanks. Ideally I'd be looking at a 2016 or so, but I hate the facelift cars and wife is short so she likes the AHC to get in and out. So it's a 14 or 15 LX that I'm looking for. And she hates black interiors (and I hate trying to keep black exteriors clean), so our pool is small to begin with...

IMO I'd pass on this one. The price isn't great, and the Carfax is bad - like really. Even you end up loving it, you will have a hard time selling it down the line when the next buyer pulls the Carfax. 99% of the time, I won't even look at a car if it has 1 accident on the Carfax, but I would never ever look at a car with 5 incidents on the Carfax. The dealership is WAY overpriced on this one, so I'd suggest to keep looking.

PPI came back flawless. Said he couldn't find any overspray and all vin numbers match.

I really like this car, but I'm afraid you're right on the carfax. Especially since we don't plan on keeping it more than 2 or 3 years.

Don't do it - I promise you will regret it. If you buy it now, you will always be thinking about those accidents and wondering if something is going to break or whatever. LXs are far more common than LCs, and in general LXs are exceptionally clean and well maintained. When you go to sell, your buyer is going to be looking at a couple pristine 1 owner no damage Carfax LXs, and when they see this one with 5 accidents they will drop out. If this truck was priced $10k lower, I'd say go for it, but it's not a good deal at the listed price even with a perfect Carfax (even Cargurus show it as being a "fair" price not good or great which is what you want). There is ALWAYS the next one out there, so just give it a couple more weeks and you will be far happier.

I passed. Dealer wasn't willing to go lower than 38,400. I told them my max was 35k based on the Carfax. Car was in amazing condition, though. It would be sitting in my garage now if not for the Carfax.

I'll keep looking.

This one doesn't look bad but I am across the country away.

Does anyone have any insight / opinion on this one? It checks all the wife’s boxes, but it seems the service history on the lexus site is a little light and it’s been for sale for awhile.

Hi Guys -

Started looking at 100 Series LC's and the GX, but am thinking now it might be worth moving up to a 200 Series for not a large price gap. While I've seen some relatively clean LX's for ~30K and under 100K (70-85K miles), I can't seem to find any LC's in that same range.

I understand the (paradoxical?) premium for the "Land Cruiser" nameplate, but is a target of 75Kish miles and $30K off base for the Land Cruiser?
I have seen 200 Cruiser's with 100-125K for $25K and some newer models withing my 75K ish mileage range for $35K-40K, but nothing in between. I don't know if it's just availability or if that potential range just isn't realistic.

Thoughts?
