For Sale Most recent 200 Series purchase prices

Hi folks! I’m looking at a 2009 LC with 137k miles. Current owner bought it from original owner, and both took very good care (except 25k of missing oil change documentation from first owner). Very good condition. Spent its whole life on the west coast. No accidents. Some minor offroad upgrades that I’m willing to pay $1k - $2k extra for. Radiator, hoses, and thermostat recently replaced, as were the spark plugs. I will do a PPI before purchase. Seller is asking $26k. Is that a fair price?

Prices seem to be dropping in the current market, but it’s hard to tell how much. Also seems that they’ll continue to drop for a while as the overall economy stalls. CarGurus used to have model-specific price history charts, but I can’t find them — please let me know if you how where they are.

It's not unreasonable at all. Especially if all the 120K PM has been done. That could be almost 3K if you have it done. Be sure to check KDSS bolts. While prices are dropping, you are already at the bottom end of the depreciation curve. 1-3K in either direction is about all you are going to see on a good clean one. And they are not readily available. I would not focus as much on price as I would condition/service history and my own financial budget.

I don’t see 200’s dropping a whole lot I’m value. It’s the truck of choice for stealth wealth, and people tend to hold em forever. Gas is stupid cheap and v8’s are going away. Finally, I’m convinced that mr T is going to royally S the bed on the 300.

comclusion- now is a good time to buy your forever truck.

(checked and there is a huge gap in Toyota dealer service records between 39k and 114k. haven't pulled a Carfax)

Just bought my second 100, 04 with 62,000 miles. Really beautiful lx. Paid 18.5 and a San Diego car no trace of rust and clean car fax. I’m looking to make it more trail ready but now considering a 200 before I start throwing more $ and time I’ll never see again. After reading this thread the 200 fans make them sound a step up. I’m going to keep it for a long time like I did my first. I moved to Payson Arizona from so. Calif retired and lovin it. I’ve never driven or been in a 200. Let me know why I should trade up before I start accessorizing and pinstripe this one.

Oh, some so cal vehicles might have low miles but imagine how many hours it sits in traffic idling surging braking cussing sucking fumes it takes to go 10,000 miles.

The few things I like about the 200 is no timing belt, premium fuel isn't required, and it has more power for towing. You might have a better response posting this in the 200 thread area. This section here is mainly about pricing.

Go drive one (or five). Better is always subjective...especially around here. I haven't spent much time in the 100s, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Has anyone seen these in person? Both are well across the country from me, but I was tempted to potentially pull the trigger. Both have what appear to be solid service histories per the Carfax. Not sure Im willing to make the plunge on something sight unseen, but Im sort of tempted.

I spoke with Eric sarjeant. a wealth of knowledge and a great disposition for sharing his experience with years of selling, building, living landcruiser. He sensed my questions and answered with unhurried and complete explanation. It’s refreshing to find somebody that truely knows a vehicle bumper to bumper and the capabilities and the options available and has put together combinations knowing who in the industry are the best at problem solving and putting out highest quality end results LCs deserve. He broke a barrier and probably saved me money and grief by taking the quess work out of my goals of end results.

Did you gather any information on 159k miles one before going with 140k? I am far from it as well and can't go see the vehicle.

@LXstalker , if you peruse some of Eric sthreads on here - he's a higher up at that Toyota Dealership - you can tell he loves landcruisers, and is always price competitive - he doesn't heavily sell on here, but if you pay attention he lets it slip occasionally:) I am a fan of that kind of low key marketing.

If you are lucky enough to be shopping a new one there are plenty of folks on here who speak highly of dealing with him. I hope to be one one day!
 
I have been on the lookout for a nightfall mica ((love the dark blue) LX and they seem hard to come by. Anybody checked either of these out? Located in Tennessee but they are NY trucks. Of course no pictures of the undercarriage.

Thanks for the info. I’m not sure I can get the buying new approved by my wife. I just use it as a point of reference when looking at used models.
