Let’s try this again, prior thread deleted, I assume they want to keep it clean, there was no explation given.

If you have sold a 100 series recently and want to share what you paid with details on truck this will be helpful for potential buyers currently looking.

This thread can be helpful for buyers looking to understand the market and different factors that come into play on pricing.

Please stay on topic!

I recently sold 2004 LX with 176k for 12,500. Truck was 9/10 on condition with full service records. Southern Vehicle no rust.

Hope those are OG owners and not ones that bought at the peak. Once the 200s started pushing into the sub 30K range it was just a matter of time before 100 prices corrected.

Guy that sold my brother his lx, paid 21k 3 years ago. He put 60k on it and listed for a fair price

It appears most of the low mileage and/or low cost 100's are popping up on the Western half of the country, especially California.

Unfortunately, I can't find what I'm looking for, or at least what I want with less than 200K miles.

Is wanting a rear locked LC with gray interior, no wood grain, and color keyed (matching paint) bumpers and side molding being too picky?

Yeah, that's a hard ask. You would have to research to see if that combination was ever built. Especially since rear lockers were 98/99 only.

Yes, especially since the wood laminates peel off and you can paint bumpers.

Yes, they were offered with those combination of features, and I can find them, but everyone I run across is either rusted out, or has high mileage.
Don't be afraid of high mileage if it comes with a good maintenance history. Also, if you can negotiate on price for a higher mileage example, you can spend the remainder on repairs. You're looking at a 25 year old vehicle. Anyway you look at it, you're going to be spending.

My first 100 cost $21K over the $21K I paid for it to get things fixed and repaired. i.e. timing belt, water pump, belts, hoses, heater core, axle rebuild, stereo replaced, etc., etc. Now I have an Ok rig that's only worth a little over half of what I have into it, and the only real upgrades are ARB front bumper and OME 2" lift.

I'm sure I could have spent half the price on repairs and upgrades, but trying to build a house is my priority, and don't have any spare time to wrench.

The good thing is it has factory manual transmission and rear tire carrier.

I bought my 07 LX with 120k for 23k southern rig no rust from a dealer with no maintenance record, they wouldn’t back down and it was durning the peak of Covid. Put another 6k into baselining cv axles and with a surprise cam seal leak fix. Brake booster will be the next task (buzz noise) when we get back for RR. It’s at 145k now. We mainly work overseas, so we barely drive it. Hoping I could at least put it back on the market for around the price I bought it considering it’s a 07 and upgrade to a 200. We’re on a hunt for a 80 series as our overseas vehicle, we got a 13’ Mistubishi Pajero it does the job for now lol

The seller had another person in mind for a backup.

I've got a lead on a 2007 LC with just shy of 240k. It's not perfect but is an original owner that survived the owner's college student. A/C doesn't work but supposedly everything else does. I'd assume it's just an evaporator like most of these have go bad. CA vehicle and the undercarriage is clean.

Asking $8,500 - I know there's room in there if it were cleaned up - and I sort of want to do that and send it to my niece across the country to use, but I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger on it.

If anyone is local to the SF bay area and have cash on hand to get this, reach out. Or is that price good enough that I should just save it from someone else out of the community from getting it...

At that mileage recent maintainance makes all the difference. What has been done to it in the last 5 years?

Updating this thread because it seems like it’s been almost a year since the last few posts.

I recently purchased:

1999 LX470
200k miles
Stock car, California Bay Area it’s whole life. 2 owner car.
Recent maintenance was new OE brake master, timing belt, heater Ts, radiator, fluids.

I paid $10k

Cosmetically the exterior is 7/10, interior is 8/10

Everything works, no big leaks. Needs tires.

I’d say I got the better end of the deal, especially with the brake master and timing belt job.

I realize the early model LX isn’t the ideal 100 but it’s for the wife and it’ll stay stock-ish to drive around the kiddo.
I don’t think it’ll see dirt for a while. Maybe some snow down the line.

Thanks for the update, I'm constantly looking for a 98/99 with rear locker, gray interior, and no wood grain. When I come across them, super high milage, lots of needed maintenance, and/or the sunroof doesn't work, and often sealed with silicone. And they still want more money than it's worth.

Anyone ever dealt with this dealer before or local to auburn AL & could go kick the tires? Lot if gaps/potenial issues/money pit but non nav vvti 100 😳
Saw this one few days ago and had the same thoughts w/ the non nav. But the recent alignmentS and numerous front end collisions probably aren't worth the headache. But who knows? maybe it's a good truck!

The lack of maintenance rec’s (assume it was all done back in PR with the multiple import/export), coupled with the failed emissions. It’s got surface rust underneath but I don’t see anything on the body/frame solid. Just super tempting bc nobody has come out with a long-term viable nav delete solution in the 5 spd 100’s imo.

This truck was for sale on FB marketplace down in FL for months. Guess the dealer in Auburn bought it from them. Incredibly clean spec but too many gaps for my risk tolerance

Bought my 1998 Land Cruiser yesterday with rear locker and always a GA truck, No rust at all ANYWHERE! One owner and every oil change since day one every 5k. Full service history including $16,000 worth of maintenance receipts in the last 20k. Truck has 225k on it and everything under the sun has been serviced from new steering rack to complete suspension rebuild to new front leather seats. Truck is truly as good as new! Paid $11,500 and just ordered an Iornman front bumper! Going to drop 5K into fun stuff since there is no repairs or baselining needed... So happy with it! I know that i paid a premium, but good ones are getting so hard to find!
