If you have sold a 100 series recently and want to share what you paid with details on truck this will be helpful for potential buyers currently looking.

This thread can be helpful for buyers looking to understand the market and different factors that come into play on pricing.

Please stay on topic!

I recently sold 2004 LX with 176k for 12,500. Truck was 9/10 on condition with full service records. Southern Vehicle no rust.

Bingo. All the talk of maintenance done/inspection was great (I would still get my own inspection in addition as a buyer). I thought that part and the whole deal of I’m not a dealer but a lot of people think I act like a dealer was a bit much. A lot of it I thought just came across a little braggadocious. Some of it just didn’t land with me as a buyer (maybe I’m the only one but given how long it took to sell I may not be) wanting to walk up inspect a truck, come to a fair number, head to the bank and get a cashiers check and drive home. If I’m driving 5 hours there and five home or flying and driving home, the ad was a little off-putting. I can’t speak for others, but the dealership experience has sucked as of late on trying to buy one, the last thing I want to do is fork over a decent size sum of money for the same bs from a private sale.
Thank you @newtocruisers88 Great feedback. At the time of my original listing, people asking for higher prices were getting slandered so that's why I added that statement. I also get asked if I am a dealer a lot. We all know how much we don't want to work with dealers, especially shady used car dealers. Not trying to be braaggadocious, trying to completely distance myself from that. I do see how it's perceived now. Appreciate the other perspective. I will leave those out in case I sell something in the future.

I just bought a 2003 LX470 for $17,500 from a private owner.

217k miles, timing belt and water pump done at 175k.

Heater T's, radiator, radiator hoses, coil packs, spark plugs and wires, power steering pump and all hoses, wheel bearings, and a brand new windshield were all done in the past 20k miles. All were OEM if available.

AHC deleted and OME lift, BFG mud terrains (295 70r18) added, full slee off-road plates, rock lights, ARB bumper, and a few other upgrades added.

Truck from the south US with legitimately zero rust anywhere.

Alright Mud members. I have a 100 purchase question for you. I am looking at a 2000 LC 100. 195k miles, very stock, regular oil changes, limited history in paperwork, timing belt was done around 115k. The original color is black and current owner had it wrapped about 2 years ago to a dark gray kind of matte finish. Honestly it looks pretty good. The Carfax is clean; the LC lived in SoCal and Vegas until coming up to Oregon in 2016. Same owner in Oregon since 2016. I think he has cared for the car reasonably well, but no major repairs have been needed. I doubt some of the fluids outside of engine oil have been changed recently. BFG tires and good brakes.

It drove well for a 23 year old car with almost 200k miles. I have a newer 200 and my son has a 97 LX450, so we have some perspective. The seller is local and not a flipper. He is looking for a fair deal as am I.

I feel used LC prices have started to lower in the past several months, but I am not as current on the 100 market. What would reasonable range be for this car? Immediately it needs nothing. But it certainly could benefit from being baselined and timing belt is coming up.

Interior is a 7/10. Typical heavy wear on fronts; they need seat covers or replacement leather.

I am thinking in the $10-12k range. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance for chiming in.

Is that a crease in the front fender? What does the paint look like under the wrap? Sounds like timing belt needs to be done. If the paint is not in good shape and that is a crease in the fender, I would be around 7k ish tops. Might see a small crease in the rear drivers door as well.

Actually there is not a crease there. I thought the same thing on the photo. The wrap is looks good in regular lighting.

Appreciate the feedback.

Thoughts on this? Don’t really know much about the 100 series market
I wouldn't pay more than $6,500 for it. You've got crap paint, doesn't matter to some but it does to me. Close to $3k in interior/upholstery work, again doesn't matter to some. Seems pretty darn haggard for only 150k miles. The accumulation of brake dust that was recently washed off, along If you're local, then definitely go check it out, but that thing looks hammered, for So Cal prices. Our friend Felipe appears to flip cars, this is just another example.

So I have my eyes set on a 2006 LX with 130k and a regular maintenance history, TX/OK vehicle without rust. It's blizzard pearl, my favorite color. All the seats are reupholstered.

Clean carfax. Timing belt and rear brakes just done. Water pump and CV boots in 2015 at 100k. Timing belt might also have been done at 80k, which is when the 90k service was performed according to Lexus service records. Didn't think to ask about spark plugs and don't see them in either the carfax or the Lexus records.

Seller asking 24k. I'd have to fly to go check it out in person, seller says it'll need a new valve cover gasket at some point because there's a small leak, and the steering wheel is slightly off center though the truck doesn't pull.

Goal would be to have this car for a long long time for cross country trips, but very light off-roading. Not planning on selling, already made that mistake once with my previous LX. I've been pretty set on 5-speed/VVTI which are harder to come by, at least for the two months I've been looking. But prices are through the roof and I'm wondering if the market will get any better, and even if it does, will it get much better for LC/LX.

Opinions?

All the seats are reupholstered? That seems odd. Do you mean just the drivers seat?

Just purchased a 99 with 279,000 Miles from VA for $8000. Timing belt done the week before I purchased. No rust other than a few surface spots. No engine or diff leaks, everything works. CV boots are torn, and small power steering leak. Chipped windshield/bad install being fixed this week.

hey guys, can you tell me if $14,888 is reasonable for my 2005 LX470? Want to make sure I'm pricing it correctly. Thanks!
