Someone here has to have used one of these kits. Seems like the two best choices for SUA.

I've got the MAF "rock crawler" kit on mine and I'm pretty happy with it so far. It's a bit stiff (but i've only got maybe 250 miles on the springs) and seems to be softening up, but it also gives great assurance on the road (doesn't lean in corners) but great flex witht he long-travel set-up.

I don't know anyhting about the Mojave springs but I don't see why you couldn't use those springs witht he rest of the long-travel "rock crawler" kit.

Good point. Did you do the reversal? How much lift would you say you got?

I did go with the reversal, and it gave me a solid 4", maybe even a bit more (but the springs are still breaking in and should settle a little more)

I have yet to test it on the trail :o as I'm also working on other conversions at the moment but will report back on how it goes on the dirt, hopefully later this spring/summer.

For me personally, I'm going to go with the Mojave kit because my cruiser is going to be more of a DD than anything else.

If it was my money I would go with the most streetable. Flex is great, just not when your making a panic turn or turning with a detroit in rear.

I beat the wee out of superlift 2.5" springs and some extended shackles before I went SOA. Neither of those options were avail. when I was shopping. Was plenty good of a ride, without killing my kidneys or spilling my coffee. I did run a winch and a full size 35" ssr spare. Ended up going SOA with same springs and ditching large shackles.

arg, I am still stuck and wanted to buy something tonight. Anyone else have an opinion?

Thanks

Youll know after its broken in whether or not you made the right choice. If its too soft you have the option to add heavier valved shocks, to keep your flex. If its too hard, add some weight in the form of bags of mulch or weights from home gym. You can find out how much weight it takes to soften the ride out. Not a fan of adding lighter valve shocks cause they can "fade" way to fast. And you feel your riding on a trampoline.

i just got my mojave kit and have now put it in the front. tonight will be the rear. so far everything looks really good. shackle angles are really nice, just have to extend the front drive shaft.

i like the mojave kits quite a bit. they've very well thought out and tested. and done so by somebody who actually wheels a cruiser and has been doing so for many years..........

good to hear endorsements for the Mohaves

Well I hope I made the right choice. I went with the Safari rock crawler kit.

Did you ever install this kit? I have been to man a fre a few times about a year ago and they sware by this kit because how complete it is. I don't think they had the mojave kit yet. Does it ride as bad as some people say?

By "bad" do you mean good? It's the softest set of springs on the market by a large margin
