Alright, I have a tent spot reserved for the trip. Looks like no Molly, but my brother is coming down from WA. :D

Do I need to bring a roll of quarters for the showers?

No. Just a towel and shower kit.

nice.

So what are the trail plans?

Moab has too much to offer I can't make up my mind what hobby to pursue while there! But at least one of the days I will dedicate to the MTB.

The "showers" for the KOA tent sites are the closest spigot they use for irrigation. No quarters necessary but bring swim suits for yourself and your brother since Molly isn't coming. Pray for warm weather.

Showers for only 5 days? Wimps.

I may push my boss to let me off for that Thursday if no one else is going up on Friday :)bounce2: extra day of wheeling!). I will ask in the morning. I hope it is not a problem considering I have only called in sick one day in twelve years. My only concerns are that I don't have much recovery gear (if I get stuck I may need to borrow something) and lack the driving expierence you all have, but I feel confident I can handle the latter.

There are two solutions to this problem:

1. Don't get stuck
2. Borrow it, in my experience HDC members aren't stingy with their gear

the third solution is unspoken but I'll share it....

don't get stuck :flipoff2:

Rudy,

Don't worry too much. We will be doing things you have never done before. Just follow in the tracks of the truck in front of you, call for a spot if you are not comfortable, and have a great time. If at any time you are unsure just say so, take a spot, and learn. Hopefully at the end of the weekend it will be impossible to knock the smile off your face.

Don't plan to so :flipoff2: to you too.

I am not worried that much. With the things I learned this past year with the group I felt confident enough to even drive my truck with jet skis in tow and drop them in a couple of places no one else wanted to at the Butte for Labor day weekend. I even had a few people watching thinking i was going to get stuck, but still pulled out.

Alright, a little update. Looks like my pops is coming down too. So I upgraded to a Kabin.

What time is the caravan leaving Thursday?

Rudy - following in the track of the rig in front of you is usually a good idea, if the rig is the same as yours. Different rigs have different lines. It's kind of like that saying:
"Visualize whirled peas"
Except visualize your wheels (hopefully on the high spots, over the obstacle).

Y'all have fun.

Ummm, what are the chances? :grinpimp:

  • Rudy, FZJ80
  • Evan, FZJ80
  • Graham, FZJ80
  • Mike, FZJ80
  • Rory, FZJ80
  • Shawn

Like I said, I have learned a lot from you guys this past year. Even though Onur is not going I know not to follow that line! :flipoff2: I don't want my 80 to look like that! Damn, I should not have hit below the belt if I ever need help with :wrench:.

No particular reason for the quote above. I just wanted to capture it before Rudy has a chance to change it. :bounce:

Thanks for the Kodak moment Jon! Do I have my foot in my mouth or my head in my a$$. Sorry Onur I just could not resist.

 me too

Anyways, I may leave on Thursday. I will have to decide because my boss said I could trade it for another Saturday (kinda BS to me since I have only used one day out out four weeks vacation this year). I just was planning to do a couple more things to the truck before than on Saturdays. I will see what I can get done before than. I will let you all know.

What's really sad is I think he was on pavement when it went from being a nice truck to a really messed up one. It did have a lot of snow and ice to help it on its way though.

Yep - he actually rolled over temporary wall barrier...
