We didn’t have time to complete Fins n Things. A few of us went out to explore it a little after dinner one night. We did a couple miles and then exited at one of the many designated camping areas. The big stone fins and sandy washes are always fun to drive.

You can’t just wheel in Moab, you gotta eat as well. Our favorite spot was probably Milt’s Stop and Eat. It’s just a burger shack, with a good variety on the menu. It’s outdoor seating, and it’s a good place to bring a group to. If the picnic tables are taken, you can pull up camp chairs or circle some tailgates like we did. I was too busy stuffing my face to get any pics.

Josie Wyatt’s was a tad bit more expensive, but the service and food were great. They easily accommodated our group of 14, which was nice.

Nobody in the group was disappointed with this place.

Top of the World was a good time. Just going for the view and pictures at the top is worth it. The trail itself was kind of tedious, definitely our least favorite of the week. It’s just slow and bumpy. Not very technical and there weren’t many obstacles. The ledges are cool, but most were small and easy. If I ever do it again, I would go left at the fork. Those ledges are bigger and would be more of a challenge. For me, that would be more fun to climb up. Going right at the fork was the recommended path, at least in the book we have. There’s also 5 miles of rough washboard roads just to get to the trail head. The foam cell pros handle it nicely at speed, but there was some sort of ultra marathon going on so we chose to be courteous to others on our way up.

I can’t remember the lines, but I recall having winch once on that trail.

fan f***ing tastic man.

I'm surprised to hear the trails aren't difficult! even more reason to go

The open/open GX walked up 95% of everything I did with ease. There was just a few obstacles or lines he wasn’t willing to try without armor. So at least these popular trails are very doable.

Im sure there are plenty of trails that can up the difficulty quickly. Pritchett, Metal Masher, Moab Rim…etc

I can’t wait to get back out there and check these off the list.

Mill Creek is a short hike, and the parking lot is basically inside town. Avoid going in the middle of the day. As we were walking out there must of been 200 Boy Scouts trying to find parking. We walked up past the falls and found multiple secluded pools if you’re trying to get away during a busy time.

if there's room in your group next time I would be up for tagging along!

I got to run the Slaughterhouse Gulch trail with the Rising Sun 4WD club yesterday. This trail is basically their version of Peter’s Mill. A very easy drive through the woods with an optional obstacle or two to play around on. They had a ton of trucks and were very welcoming to this wandering Virginian. If any of you guys are in the area, check their forums beforehand and see what rides might be posted up.

I was also very grateful for the pizza and beer that the Rising Sun provided afterwards. It was fun to sit down with some of the Slee engineers. I was particularly interested in all of the product development they are working on for all years of the LX 570.

All those nice trucks and not a 40 in site! Looks like a great trip.
