Regretfully selling my 1997 FZJ80.
226,xxx miles.
Located in Rochester, MN.
We are moving into a new home in Oregon that won't allow us 3 vehicles and a trailer, so I'll need a proper truck to facilitate home improvement projects. I've owned it since 2021 and driven it very little. It was a third vehicle for us and I treated it as my work truck. It has your usual Midwest rust; this is not your easy resto candidate. It needs some work though it runs very well. Never took it trailing or offroad. Last few years has been serviced at the dealership.
I have receipts of work from the previous owners. They installed ARB front and rear air lockers with onboard air. They also put in new leathers, carpeting, sound dampening, aftermarket stereo with CarPlay, custom paint, and a custom bumper/hitch mount was added.
The front prop has a loose u-joint that causes a bit of noise at higher speed, I bought a new prop to replace it but haven't gotten around to it. During my troubleshooting of this issue I had a LX450 Transfer Case installed that had 170k miles.
Looking to move on this quickly. Will entertain reasonable offers and will prioritize nearest folks.
Price: $8,000 OBO w/ clean MN title in-hand.

- AC, heat, and power features all functional (windows, locks, sunroof, wipers, etc.)

Known Issues:
- Rust: Typical Midwest rust — visible on rockers, some minor spots on the body, inner fenders, and portions of frame (see photos). If you aren't comfortable with the realities of what owning a truck in the Midwest is like, then please move along. I don't really care for the commentary.
- Front driver-side knuckle needs rebuilt. I've punted this about a year now so this would need to be addressed.
- Fuel filler neck is rusted through and leaks when fueling. The easiest fix would be cutting it out and replacing it with rubber fuel line.
- Minor oil weeping from engine but nothing that would require immediate attention
- Battery is weak and will need replacement soon
- Interior/Exterior wear including some broken/cracked trim.
- Roof paint fading.
- Exterior Window trimming cracking and needs replaced
- No D light
- Factory antenna not working
I had taken advantage of some part sales over the years to plan ahead for maintenance items, which will be included with the sale. Combine value of over $1,500:
