As y'all know I'm trying to make a route from point to point across the state using as much off road as possible.

We did Vicksburg to Canton and now I've got most of Canton Oxford done.

Yesterday I left my lunch in Vardaman and cut across to Grenada Lake and worked my way back to West. I did Canton to West about a month ago

shush is going to fat finger the roads into Google Friday.

Some of these roads yesterday were like ice after the rain. I really really was thinking I was going to be in the ditch a few times.

I gotta get from this causeway on in the center of Grenada Lake to Water Valley. I have Oxford to WV done.

Nolen, I am very envious of the time you have and the time you allow to smell every rose you pass. #cheers

Some people would hate to drive as much as I do. Red would for one.....I love it. I figure I can haul ass home and pull weeds or sit on a deer stand or I can wander to and from.

Thanks for reading it.....

Planning to role down the trace to Port Gibson and Lorman Saturday with family if anyone wants to go. No schedule other than lorman lunch and visiting military park

Grand Gulf and Lorman were a hit with the family

McLure loved the fire truck.

Go forth.... And explore!!

Friday I wanted a Blue Rooster Burger something crazy so I took 463 out and made a nice big loop through NW Madison County

I sat and took a conference call overlooking the Reservoir on the Natchez Trace Parkway

Then drove it out to the Chapel of the Cross and photographed it for my Kid's school

After I murdered the burger, I took Pocahontas Rd to Pocahontas and took a few pics. After that I snaked my way back to Canton on some amazing roads. I had NO IDEA all those huge lakes and houses were just west of Hwy 463 and Reunion.......

This house in Flora was so awesome but falling in. Looked lived in but damn....

Next trip, cruise down Mt Leopard Road, when you reach The Highlands there is a stunning view and drop by to see me if near Pocahontas

Noel, that is the road I took from Pocahontas Rd back to Gluckstadt. I can't believe what an awesome road that is. I had a million questions as I drove down it. I picked it from Google maps due to the contour lines on the map. That is a hell of a ridge........

Today I had a breakfast in Madison and a lunch appt in Greenville, then on to Memphis.

I had 2 things I wanted to See and Eat on the way.....

I took the fastest route I could make to Lexington since I have all the backroads mapped that I want from my house to Lexington.

Once past Lexington, I jumped off road and worked my way along the Delta Bluff's all the way to Greenville. This is an awesome route with almost zero asphalt. I will get it plugged in soon to Google Maps for all to use.

Highlight Pics.....

From Greenwood I bolted over to Greenville for my appointment and then I headed back to Greenwood to work my way up to Sumner for the first EAT portion of the day.

I snuck into the Sumner Grill in Sumner Mississippi before they closed at 2:00 and had an amazing burger. My friend Luke from the Delta told me about this place and I woke up thinking about it. It was a BIG detour back but it was truly worth it. Definitely on the list next time we do a Cottonland Run......

The town of Sumner became famous for a murder that was swept under the rug back in the day in the Delta.....read the sign, get caught up.....

image-1597x1252.jpg

The famous water tower in Minter City.....Sumner has one too.....

image-1597x1252.jpg

But I digress......the best way to get from Greenville to Sumner is through Cleveland, but I wanted to go to the Robert Johnson grave and I knew I had till about 2:00 to get to Sumner so I went back to Greenwood and took Money Rd up......

OK.....so, then it was lunch and then I was going to go find the REAL Crossroads where Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil when I remembered a photo of a cool bridge in this area that I wanted to go find. Sure enough, it was just a bit of a backtrack and I found it....

Lamb-Fish built in 1905 across the Coldwater River. F'ing legit.
