How do you like the suspension on the 40? I forget what kind you got...was it Hell Creek?

Pinnicle... it is fine... ... rough ride for sure... but guess I have not spent time in any other stock enough cruisers to see what a OME or somthing similar would ride like...

Lets see…. Kind of a lot has happened since I posted anything up…. Not much on the LC but 4runner… and other news that did involve the LC. Here goes…

Decided to change the timing belt on the 4 runner…. This was a little more difficult than I expected but all in all it went good… no real surprises.. Timing belt itself was difficult to put on because it was so tight…

On Monday I was driving the LC to work so I went out side to let it warm up in the shop before I left… I reached in and turned on the key… I forgot to check to see if it was in neutral and the ebrake pulled… I was in a hurry and did not… so it started up and almost ran over me… ripping my pants and shirt, and smashing in to the shop wall… it did some pretty good damage to the shop, nothing to the LC… nothing that can not be fixed but just a lot of work will be into this… It all happened so fast…. I just don’t really know what happened… glad I did not get hurt, minus a few bad bruises. The LC is not banged up so it could have been a lot worse…. The real bitch of it is, I was not drinking… which only goes to prove, I am 100% unable to function unless whiskey is involved…

ME: “Hey Steve is there a neutral safety switch I did not hook up for some reason???”

Steve: “This truck can not prevent you from killing yourself… maybe you should just give me the keys!!!”

How much of a slope is your shop on so that the Cruiser would roll with that much momentum!? Did it hit with the front or rear bumper? Glad you're ok!

didnt roll... when I turned the key it started and drove itself into the wall.. draging me as I was trying to get it out of gear :D

front bumper... just a small scratch on it... got to love those MAF bumpers... stonger than a building wall... :D

I found when I did the timing belt on my 4Runner that I didn't actually need the snap on timing belt tensioner tool. If you buy a new tensioner it has the piston already compressed and a pin locks it in place. Put it on along with the new idlers, pull the pin, and it's good. The tensioner was about the same price as the tool. Sucks about your garage. Many years ago a friend of mines sister had the clutch hydraulics fail on their carburated Jeep and it did something similar. The choke didn't work right so you had to hold the gas down as you started it. Without a working clutch master and the gas pedal depressed it peeled out and pushed my friends motorcycle and our keg fridge (both in front of the Jeep) right through the wall into their laundry room.

I did buy a new one also and you are correct if you go this way you dont need the tool... however you also have to take off all the AC junk that I did not have to... I bought the tool because I thought I needed it regarless.... my tensioner was in good shape so I left it... saved a few hours of work removing it for no reason. I found all my idler pullies, theromstate and water pump in good shape..... really none of them needed replacement... even though I did... just piece of mind I guess...

Oops didn't read your original post close enough. Now it makes sense. :o

Torquey son-of-a-gun isn't it? :D

had more problems with fuel delevery on the way home last night... I was able to drive home... just not very fast... all three filters have junk in them again... not much but some.... going to bite the bullet and drain the gas tank tonight and see what junk comes out of there... while I am there I am going to run new fuel lines again... and all new filters....

While you have the tank out install a new OEM replacement if you want an easy fix. Or have the old one boiled out and sealed if there are any places in your area that provide that service. There are DIY kits from Eastwood and POR15 to seal and clean old tanks also.

tank has 700 miles on it.... it is OEM toyota installed last winter... everything is brand new... that is what is pissing me off about this!!

Yikes!!!! I would be pissed also.

so I got s*** getting through 2 filters, going through a brand new fuel pump and getting in to another filter right before carb.... 2nd set of filters in 700 miles.....

so either I got s*** in the tank that looks like coffee grounds... or the rubber hoses are consuming themselves??????
