Both fowl and deer open on Nov. 1st for most of Texas. South Texas deer opens a little later but is extended. Those with MLD (managed land) permits started shooting deer when bow seasons opened. We hunt the middle coast mostly. Went this weekend and brushed a few blinds. Can't wait!!!

cool that is a big boat, only use those on the big water around here, lake of the woods area, other wise if you are hunting water, dog does fine, maybe a camo canoe or john boat... when you say "coast" you mean salt water stuff???

what kind of birds are those in that pic?? haha your dog looks pissed at you... :D

Its all saltwater, No Green. In shallow backlack areas such as this, we have Pintail, Widgeon, Mottle, Teal, Gadwall, and Spoons (we call Diggers). If we hunt in deeper areas, Redhead, Scaup, and Bufflehead. There is a lot of birds in the area along with pressure. The boat is used to cross the bay which is 5mi of open water. This gets us inside the flooded marsh where we can shoot puddle ducks. Once there, the dog does the work. Goose season is closed in the county since its a nesting area for wooping cranes. We have three that cruze the area often. Pretty cool to see them though.

our teal are gone... on their way to see you guys... them and the wood ducks are first to go... still some around but not many... I have shot Widgeon and spooner in ND but never here in MN, but I am sure there are a few around west of here however...

we will get the divers in late... and in the big water only... season is open until Dec 2nd here so when the resort closes here I will post up pics of us hunting here on gull lake. hopfully until december... that is if the ice does not come first... we got alot of blue bills, buffs and redheads in the years past. they are forced to bigger water because small stuff freezes first.

Never seen a wooping crane... :meh:

PS I can pick your pintail and spooner out in the pic now... :D

Since this thread is hijacked anyway, here are a couple more. Keep in mind that I live in the PDRK and they hate hunters here. The pheasants are from South Dakota last year. I wish I lived there.

South Dakota native miss Pheasant hunting more than anything. My Dad has lost his pheasant hunting to commercial hunting. People pay big money to hunt where I grew up. Many a Pheasant and :beer::beer: at the end of the day. :grinpimp::clap::bang:

nice birds..... I am leaving for SD on tue.... going to be gone 5 days.... I am so pumped!!!! just talked to my guys out there and all the corn is still up so it may be a bad year. but we have so much fun anyway.... The Wrangler Inn & Windjammer Lounge we stay here... in Mobridge, SD!!! I love it there... classic small town america... and I have met so many people over the years there... seems they all know when we are coming hahaha... good or bad I guess... :)

they are bushwacker.... I just googled it and found the cheapest place and bought them there. I know you can for sure get them at cool cruisers.

FYI you will either have to cut your fender or cut the flare to fit the tub.

I am just about to leave for deer hunting..... been working on heater, when I was home, got it mocked up and pulled back out again... slowly but surely... got paint on it yesterday...

at this very moment MILLHOUSE is getting me something very very exciting!!!! pics to come!!! :D:D

ok... well here is what MILLHOUSE was getting me last week when I said it was a surprise. it is a factory soft top bows.. all there... along with the factory soft doors.. they are pretty bad but we grabbed them anyway... this will take a lot of fab work to fit on my tub but I think it will be worth it in the end... more to come on that later....

a few of my buddies cabin in northern MN... truly a one of a kind property.. they have their own private duck pond and lots of land for hunting and riding 4wheelers... got up there a few times this fall... the lake shot is from the blind which is right down from the cabin. seem so remote because there are no houses or other cabins on the lake..
