Marc's new car:
96 Landcruiser (burgundy)
Maybe I should take the day off Monday and go buy this one: 1999 Land Cruiser.
I can get a flight for $53 for Monday. It's got the rear E-locker and rear air. Reasonable miles. Carfax shows it spent its life in Boulder and Aurora so likely no rust issues.
Dealership site still shows $13,500. Two days ago the guy responded and the CL ad said $12,900. Now it's down to $12,300. It's getting tempting.
Hmmmmmm....
damage was limited to in front of the radiator
If you want some good advice on the 100-series you can also talk to a guy named Shott's, call sign ShottsUZJ100. He seems to be an expert on the 100-series.

Then after picking it up you can pass by Slee and get some goodies before you come home.
BTW, any 100 series you look at, ask/verify if they have had the 90k service done (new Timing belt ). When it is done by a dealer, they usually put a sticker under the hood somewhere.
Toyota database shows no record of a 90K service. The report has very little on it. It did have something about replacing coil packs at 132K in North Dakota though. Sales person won't call me back. Guess I'll keep on looking.
I agree with Mike. Go south, young man.
I've been checking out San Antonio and Austin as well. I just don't know if the added humidity is something to be concerned with on a 10 year old truck.
I would be. I was in Austin last week. The bridges (like where the bats are) were just as rusty as anything in Houston!
But if it was well kept, it might not be too bad. I'd worry if it was actively wheeled by someone from Austin or something, as the scratches would then rust. But a clean rig that simply was exposed to the air shouldn't be too bad--yet.
