Throwing out some ideas

Summer camping in the South East can be down right nasty with the humidity- a fall or spring event would be better if camping was anticipated. Or choose an area higher up in elevation like Asheville NC. Maybe some discussion of a home based location or point to point.

Anyway- Here’s some ideas for ya’ll

Georgia Traverse- which could be a point to point event general overlanding FS type roads About The Georgia Traverse

Uwharrie National Forest- nice wheeling and trails; and the possibility of organizing recovery technical training class. Off-Roading in North Carolina’s Uwharrie Mountains - Carolina Country

Windrock- anything and everything youd want to wheel WINDROCK PARK - The South's Premier Off-Road Adventure Park

South East Adventure Trail- overlanding FS roads SEAT - South East Adventure Trail

Further north- the Mid Atlantic BDR

I dont know much about Arkansas but I hear theres lots of forrest and trails- and theres also TX hill country and BigBend.

Lots of options-( for cooler weather)

An east coast gathering?

Its swamp-azz hot in the SE now, need to be at altitude to enjoy camping. Appalachia -VA, WVA

Would like to see the 100s at our event in October. It's going to be a blast.

www.overlanderproject.com to register.

We will have access to the military training trails at OEX. Pictures from those trails during the 2016 36 Hours of Uwharrie that we used the 04 100 in. Came in 3rd place!

Hit me up for a discount code if you guys decide to go this route.

Also, if you arrive together, we will put all the hundies together.

Thanks for checking it out,

Oh come on! We live down here cause the weather’s great! If you’re not camping through the summer you’re really missing out.

How/why did this thread die out? BUMP. Would also propose the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway/Red River Gorge area not far from Lexington, KY as a potential eastern meetup point.

Well we’ve already got 3 then.

The Kentucky adventure trail would be fun.
Parts of this overlap with the DBBB. Lots of good options. Definitely interested in Windrock also.

I am in for DBBB, Windrock or Kentucky Adventure Trail.
Paging @sammybones @MongooseGA since its their playground

Our club goes to windrock a few times every year, including this weekend. It would be the easiest with cabins and trail options for all levels of experience

I'm interested in an Eastern KY trip. Our local TLCA chapter is growing. Not a lot of 100s in the group but there are a few out there.

Rendezvous in the Ozarks 2021 - Scheduled October 14-16 2021

Last RIO had over 600 vehicles and 950+ people attend from 24 states! We had 35 vendor booths, and over 20 different product demos, trip reports, and presentations to choose from! This year we are planning for an even bigger crowd and hope to double the number of vendors present. We will also have a free event app for those attending!

The multiple tier registration options make it good for participants and VENDORS to get good customer-to-product exposures. A great bang for the buck for everybody.

Registration Options

Three Day Registration - ($50 - early registration, $60 - regular registration, $70 late registration)

Includes three day admission to the Rendezvous for driver and passengers under 18 years old, one event patch, one event sticker, and one door prize ticket (If we do two nights of giveaways you will receive one for each night). There will be an additional charge of $10 for each passenger 18 years or older. You can also purchase event t-shirts and additional patches and stickers as part of your registration.

Single Day Registration - ($20 early/$30 late driver and $5 for each passenger 18 years or older)

Includes one day admission to the Rendezvous one event patch, and one event sticker. Other items must be ordered separately, if desired, or purchased at the event. Those that aren't camping/lodging at Byrd's, will also need to purchase a day use pass from Byrd's when they enter the property. Day use passes are approximately $5/person over 11 years of age. Note: Those who register for a single day pass are not eligible for the door-prize giveaways or the guided trail runs.

Trail Time Possibilities

  1. Byrd's has their own ORV Park with trails for all skill levels. Park fees are not included in your event registration cost but those camping at Byrd's are eligible for a discounted rate of approximately $12 per day should you choose to take advantage of the ORV Park. You will need to pay this trail fee at the Byrd's Adventure Camp office BEFORE wheeling on any trail at Byrd's. If you are caught riding in the ORV park without a Byrd's permit you will be asked to leave the event!
  2. Guided groups. We will also be pursuing a Special Event Permit from the National Forest Service that would allow us to provide limited guided trail runs on the Ozark National Forest trails. We are not allowed to do guided trail runs however unless we are successful in getting a special use permit for this year. We will have a total of about 100 spots available for those interested in a guided trail run. Those interested will need to register early to get one of these spots and will need to choose the three day registrations to be eligible. There will be a trail fee of $20 for those participating in one of the guided trail runs to cover the cost of the permit and insurance. We will update this information as soon as we know if we are issued a permit. We will refund any trail fees if a permit is not issued for some reason.
  3. Self guided groups. Anyone is welcome to organize your own groups to explore the trails in the Ozark National Forest. We will have a trail information booth at the event for those that are interested in getting out on their own. Those looking for a group to go with will need to check-in at this booth to see if groups have open spots.
