After a year of searching and having lost 2 vehicles at the last minute, I finally found my dream rig. I decided to name her Vicki after the woman who lovingly took care of her in San Diego for the last 16 years.
I had planned to build her up but have decided to wait as I am enjoying her so much in her stock form.
So far I have based lined her, all new synthetic fluids everywhere, fluid filmed the under carriage and put on new tires after much internal debate (Michelin Defender LTX 1 size up from stock: 265/75/16).
Extremely happy with the tires- super quiet and comfortable. Big upgrade from the older stock M/S she came with. Also happy with the size- they are not 33's but at 1inch larger in diameter than stock they fill the wheel wells nicely and I just love the ride.
Was planning on running board removal and even purchased OEM front mud flaps but am actually digging them for now and have decided to keep them on.
Just want to say a big thanks to everyone on this forum- I have learned a ton over the last year from all of you and am so excited to finally have a rig of my own.
For everyone currently looking for a 100: It is a jungle out there. Btwn low gas prices and the interest generated in part by this forum and forums like this, people are snatching these things up with lighting speed. My advice: Be patient and if you do see the one do not hesitate to move quickly. I was the second caller on this vehicle the day it was posted and I offered full ask ($16,900) site unseen pending a pre purchase inspection, flew from Maine to Arizona and drove her back.
Anyway thanks again and cheers!
