Got mine last year 2001 with 64k for 16k with fresh TB job. This is the closest match I've seen to mine since! great find.

Bought mine about 3 years ago. `98 with 71K for $17K. One of my best purchases.

Thanks @savirc and congrats on your sweet find. Luckily Vikki had awesome maintenance records with a TB job as well. Patience pays off!

Nice! They are out there but becoming harder and harder to find. I had resigned myself to a 125K+ milage vehicle a long time ago (which honestly doesnt matter that much for these vehicles as you know) but the low milage still manages to push that 'want' button for me. Congrats on your '98- looks rad.

Great score. Glad to see you finally found a great truck.

Sounds like an adventure getting it. Enjoy it and be very liberal with the fluid film for our roads in Maine.

nice truck... great miles... you should get an easy 20 years of service... some think paying that for a 15 yr old truck is "out there" but there is nothing you could replace it with off a showroom floor for less than 70-80k I think it's a wise move for "people like us"
Congrats...

Welcome to the family, and don't baby it, it demands you drive over the curb and through the grass sometimes. Congrats!

Ditto. My thinking too.

Thanks John! It was indeed an adventure but I got exactly what I wanted and she rides like a dream:)

Totally. For me this is replacing a 2008 RAV4 (V6, Limited) and it is a huge upgrade for a small out of pocket expense once I sell my Rav.

After a year of searching and having lost 2 vehicles at the last minute, I finally found my dream rig. I decided to name her Vicki after the woman who lovingly took care of her in San Diego for the last 16 years.

I had planned to build her up but have decided to wait as I am enjoying her so much in her stock form.

So far I have based lined her, all new synthetic fluids everywhere, fluid filmed the under carriage and put on new tires after much internal debate (Michelin Defender LTX 1 size up from stock: 265/75/16).

Extremely happy with the tires- super quiet and comfortable. Big upgrade from the older stock M/S she came with. Also happy with the size- they are not 33's but at 1inch larger in diameter than stock they fill the wheel wells nicely and I just love the ride.

Was planning on running board removal and even purchased OEM front mud flaps but am actually digging them for now and have decided to keep them on.

Just want to say a big thanks to everyone on this forum- I have learned a ton over the last year from all of you and am so excited to finally have a rig of my own.

For everyone currently looking for a 100: It is a jungle out there. Btwn low gas prices and the interest generated in part by this forum and forums like this, people are snatching these things up with lighting speed. My advice: Be patient and if you do see the one do not hesitate to move quickly. I was the second caller on this vehicle the day it was posted and I offered full ask ($16,900) site unseen pending a pre purchase inspection, flew from Maine to Arizona and drove her back.

Anyway thanks again and cheers!

-Jon

She's a little green yet but will be fine once you get her broken in.....;-)
Sweet!

Hi guys just wanted to say the magic has not worn off. Every time I get into this rig I have a smile on my face and my family loves taking trips in it. Definitely the best purchase I have ever made.

So far only a couple of small 'mods' I wanted to share:

New cup holder insert:

CENTER CONSOLE CUP HOLDER INSERT FOR TOYOTA LAND CRUISER LANDCRUISER 2000-07 NEW

Vicki did not have this when I bought her and I couldn't believe Toyota would design such a shallow, worthless cupholder... then I figured out she was missing this part- much better.

Cargo netting to keep stuff from flying around when not fully loaded:

Amazon.com: 9 MOON Trunk SUV Rear Cargo Organizer Storage Net Flexible Nylon Trunk for Toyota Land Cruiser Prius 4Runner FJ Cruiser Highlander RAV4 Sienna Tacoma Venza: Automotive

I use this often but in truth it is a bit small for the cruiser...

OEM hitch cover:

Amazon.com: Genuine Toyota Accessories PT228-35960-HP Receiver Tube Hitch Plug: Automotive

Love this- fits like a glove and looks sharp. Very pleased with quality.

Custom Covercraft sunshade:

UVS100 Custom Sunscreen - Covercraft

I never knew one could love a sun shade as much as I love this custom covercraft sunshade. Pricy but you get what you pay for. I took a photo of the box with the part number for anyone who is interested.

Grand finale: Napier 84000 SUV tent:

Amazon.com : Sportz SUV Blue/Grey Tent with Screen Room (10 x10 x7.25-Feet) : Family Tents : Sports & Outdoors

Got lucky on this one- guy about 30 minutes from me bought this for a cross country trip with his grand daughter and right before they were going to leave his cousin gave him a pop-up trailer. Picked it up for $225 cash, new, never even unzipped the bag.

It is a palace and hooks up to the LC like a dream.

Next up thinking about getting a mattress for the back of the LC, maybe one of these:

Truck Bed Mattresses

Have been contemplating a drawer system which would allow me to use a bigger mattress as I could clear the wheel wells, but I need to throw in the 3rd row seats sometimes so I don't think I can go that route. Also checked out some sleeping platform options to get me up over the wells but I think I am just going to keep it simple and get a mattress that fits inbetween them.

Anyway that is all for now. Been wanting to post an update for a while but I have been too busy enjoying the ride!

Cheers,

Jon

Nice Find Jon, I just got my LX last week and I feel the same way every time I drive it. I admire your dedication to finding it. I thought my 10.5 hour round trip to pick her up was pretty good but you certainly win!

Thanks @Yeeper62 and congrats on your LX! For me the big thing was RUST- every 100 I looked at that was driving distance from me was in rough shape. Finally decided if I was going to do this, I was going to do it right and I am so glad I did.
