I don't want to jinx myself and say that me and the boys will be there, but that's the plan. Now something crazy is going to happen the day before we leave or better yet the day of. We missed both Logan's Run and the Christmas party due to some crazy random last second BS. Now this time I just have to make sure my kid doesn't break his arm the night before like last year.

I planned this perfectly, got there with time, wife, youngest boy (high school freshman), we had some burgers, waited for the group to show, then "Dad, I have this homework I forgot about...." and had to split. So when is the next one?

?????? The next meet and greet???? This one hasn't happened yet

I'm confused now

You missed the Charlotte monthly meeting. No regular date for these, just once a month, and we'll post up a thread about a week or so out. Meet & Greet is a club-wide event that happens over a weekend in March near Uwharrie. Some people come and camp for 3 days while some come for an afternoon. This is the thread for M&G 2015.

We are planning to be in town the 13th through the 19th for a house hunting trip and maybe . . who knows . .for good by then. We will make every effort to go, as possible. Flights from Raleigh back to KC are horrible, maybe we would drive back through Charlotte and fly from there or something crazy - - life is about to get crazier, so hard to commit :)

Don't expect CLT to be any less expensive, especially if you fly AA or USAir. We get hosed here since we're a hub in a banking town. Look into Greensboro (GSO - smaller airport known for being less expensive) for a possible deal but expect to connect somewhere (like RAL or CLT!). It's roughly an hour from RDU.

We look forward to eventually meeting you and the family. We'll have you in a proper Cruiser before long.;)

Southern 4WD is still interested in coming out and talking to the group about them and their plans / goals / and what they do for us . Please do not forget they are under a new leadership and have changed alot. Several on here can vouch for that as they are in under single membership.

I will not be there for anything during the day as i will be in class at Scott's place for 4 days. I am taking the International 4WD instructor course.

The recent snow just postponed a Science Olympiad tournament that was due to happen tomorrow. The make up date is March 21 :bang:

... And since I'm the coach I kinda need to be there. :bang:

Will miss you all.

It's looking like I will be there. The kids are away that weekend and my wife is still up in the air. Not sure if I'll be down early Friday or late---that will be a gametime decision, probably.
Looking forward to it.

Being my first time there, can I get a "typical run down" of what we do by each day? That weekend I have Track & Field meet with my youngest, I can maximize time with both events if I can plan better. Thanks all, and looking forward to meeting everyone.

@Izzyandsue Trails are still closed. Friday is early arrivals and a much quieter night. Bring your own food. Saturday is a work day on the trails (but at least it gets you on the trails). Breakfast is on your own. You can eat at the Outpost grill if you want. Darin will post what needs to be done on the work day in a separate thread. Bring lunch food for this, too, as there won't be any provided unless Darin says so.

People will filter in and out Saturday. The club will cook a pork meal that night. Lots of mingling throughout the day and night. Campfire roars the entire time we're there. Plenty of shelter in the barn if the weather requires it. Some sleeping spots in there too - first come first served. More food is never turned away. We'll post a list of needed items as we get closer if we need to.

Sunday is just clean up and leave. Bring something to add to breakfast if you'd like Kenny, Ryan and the usual crew to cook for you.

There are grills, an oven, stove and a fridge or two. There are also plenty of electrical outlets for chargers, etc.

Come for the day or spend a night or two. Lots of property to pitch a tent or sleep in the truck.

We're working on finalizing something to be raffled. I hope to have info for y'all this week.

The bathroom is an outhouse, FYI.

...And anybody is free to post up if you have certain concerns you'd like the group to look at while there. There is always somebody who's wanting another set of eyes on wiring, tires, a weird ticking sound or maybe a melted doodad on Forrest's 80.

Or just show up and start asking around. There's always a wrench being turned somewhere.
