Johnny, How is the pig cooker pick up going? I will be coming home through Durham Sunday night. I should be able to get the cooker over on Friday afternoon or meet someone in Asheboro (64, 49 or 220.) If someone else can do it, that is great, just throwing it out there.... Let me know 336-301-0673

Thanks for the offer Jay, but I think Jim has us covered. @RedHeadedStepChild , you're good to bring the cooker to the barn when you come through next week, right?

That was the plan. If someone else has a burning desire to grab it, I'm ok with that, but as of right now I'm planning on yanking my kid out of school early Friday and heading up I-40 to your place (or where ever the Pig cooker resides).

I haven't been to one of these yet so I've got a few questions:

1) Tools, supplies, and lunch, etc. needed for the workday?

2) camping facilities (running water? electricity? toilet?)

3) We plan to bring mashed potatoes and green beans to potluck. Estimate of how many to prepare for?

4) Can we bring beer/wine to this event?

Thanks,

Jim

Out of town unfortunately. But I did renew my membership ;)

I haven't been to one of these yet so I've got a few questions:

1) Tools, supplies, and lunch, etc. needed for the workday?

Lunch is usually provided, but plan on bringing lunch just in case. @krzyabncanuck will let us know if there is a provided lunch that day.

Lunch for the workday is provided!

You can bring basic tools like a shovel, but all job-specific tools are supplied.

2) camping facilities (running water? electricity? toilet?)

Electricity = yes
Running water = yes
Toilet = outhouse.

Plan on camping in a tent / in your vehicle. There are sleeping spots in the barn, but they are first come first serve.

3) We plan to bring mashed potatoes and green beans to potluck. Estimate of how many to prepare for?

Right now the count looks to be ~40 people. We will update the attendee list throughout the week leading up to the event.

4) Can we bring beer/wine to this event?

Yes sir!!

Looking forward to seeing you.

Yes. Snappy is providing a lunch. Not too sure at this time what it will be but it will be good either way. Hopefully he brings me some by.

FYI @krzyabncanuck , I'm out for the workday... I drew the short straw for night shift for the next few weeks, so I'll be arriving Saturday afternoon instead of Friday night.

Can we drink it quietly?

:rimshot:

I'm not sure now that I'm even going to make it. I have too much to do to get my landscaping business back on track. Sucks! I could use a break and drink some water with you yahoos!

I'll be arriving Saturday midday. Schedules changed and my daughter has a soccer game a 930.
I'll be coming up on my own afterward so I won't make the work day unfortunately.
I'll bring some food...will figure out what and post later this weekend.
-Derek

Up in the air as of now. Scheduled to work Saturday, but we'll see if I can get out of it.

Just a reminder that we always need non-food items, too, like paper towels, ziplock bags, a roll of heavy duty 55 gallon garbage bags, forks, heavy paper plates, multipurpose disinfectant and such. Kenny and Lydia provide the space but not the stuff. Anything you can bring and leave is very much appreciated.

Also, breakfast on Sunday is NOT provided by the club. If you plan on being there for that, and want to eat well, bring something to contribute to the cause like eggs, cheese, sausage, bacon, ham, hash browns, etc. There is usually a group of early risers who will put it all together.

Please remember to bring whatever liquids you might want - water, soda, milk, beer, wine - and cups if you need them.

Please post here if you plan on bringing anything so we can update the list in post #1. Most of the people who can update the master list are actually on the road this week so it might take a day or so to handle that.

Darin says that Snappy will have lunch for the workday crew, so that means y'all can pack light with only snacks and water. That doesn't mean that Darin shouldn't be without his energy drinks...maybe somebody wants to bring him one?

EDIT 3/16/15 @ 2:50pm
Lydia says we still have enough of these left on hand: cups, bowls, toilet paper, tin foil, knives & spoons.

Food Update: Not bringing mashed potatoes as planned. Instead, bringing cubed sweet potatoes and green beans for dinner. Also, 3 dozen eggs for Sun. breakfast and will contribute some paper products like paper towels and tp. Fun to be had.

I will take plate forksand napkins. My plate make all that food taste so good.
