I just got a new toy in my garage. Thought you guys might get a kick out of it. It's not really for the LX, since I almost never need to lift it for any service as there's plenty of room underneath it (esp with AHC in high) for oil/fluid exchange services etc. But thought I test it to see if the arms could reach the chassis, and test the anchors as the LX is at the max of it's lifting capacity (6k lbs).

Relevant info (that I couldn't find on the web): MaxJax is spaced at 130" between columns. I can locate the arms to the frame just fine.

Worked just great:

I have a maxjax lift too, and it does work for the land cruiser. My garage ceilings are a lot higher than yours though - that would be a limiting factor for you. I like that I can keep them out of the way most of the time and quickly install them when I need them. The lift height isn't awesome though - good for tires and brakes, but so-so for anything you'd normally do on a stool (and obviously you can't stand under the vehicle). Next garage will have a full height lift (needs a higher ceiling).

I wish.

I had to remove the globe and bulb from my ceiling fan in the garage because it hit the roof of the LC :) I could get maybe 8" if I took the fan down.

Size tires are on your lx? Have you lifted it?

Wow, that jack is awesome!! So you roll it into place and bolt it down? Is it pretty easy? Do you move it out of the way often?

I've had my eye out for something like this and with us having 20' ceilings in our garage this would be ideal.

I didn't know these existed - I'm adding them to my list...

Yup, they are bolted to Wej-it anchors that are installed into the floor - drill holes with a hammer drill and the anchors have a wedge portion you tighten to lock them in place. 5 anchors/bolts per post. They have wheels and can easily be rolled out of the way. I store mine by the side wall of the garage and only take it out when I need to do a job. IT takes 10-15 minutes to pull the posts out, bolt them down, and put the arms on. Maximum lift height is 48" inches... If you have 20' ceilings, why not do a full on lift? These are a compromise made for low ceiling heights. You can get a two post asymmetric lift for less money. Costco usually has one of the best prices, unless you get a group buy deal (garage journal had one at one time). I bought mine, barely used, from a guy that upgraded to a full lift. google MaxJax by Danmar... I think they are designed for 8 foot height ceilings. The post/rams will work, but the cruiser is tall, so you need more
headroom. I think my ceilings are 12', wish I'd gone 14'... I have two sets of anchors so I can put them on either side of the garage.

My 20 year old floor jack (weak as S&%T), along with 50+ year old jack stands (use spikes for pins) aren't nearly as fun as that looks like. I'm so jealous..

Those are cool. I knew short lifts existed but not a removable one with wheels. Thanks, now another thing to drool over.

The other guys here pretty much filled in all the info.

It is awesome and does deploy fairly quickly. I leave one column permanently installed on the wall side. So I just have to deploy 1 column, 5 bolts, torque, and throw on the hydraulic line via a quick release fitting.

I modded my MaxJax to be wall hung, with a hose extension ran on the ceiling, so there's no rolling pump cart and lines on the ground.

I can even park all my cars in the garage still with the MaxJax setup.

Sure, the MaxJax doesn't lift higher, but even for those that have higher ceilings, the other great benefit of the MaxJax is the ability to remove the column as necessary. Not really possible for the full height lifts.

My LX is not lifted. Only larger almost 33" tires - 305/60/18s.
