Hey Guys

As i am doing my hi steer, i was wondering if it is possible to drill and tap the FJ80 TRE's for a zerk fitting to make them greaseable. Anyone done this? I got the OEM 555's if that matters!

Pro or Cons?

Thanks

My understanding is that greasable can last longer if you do religious maintenance, but non-greasable has a very long life without. In fact, that has been my experience as well. For the price of a new TRE once in a while, it's one less thing i have to do.

127,779 miles on my TREs. Still nice and tight.

I was just curious because these things dont seem to have ANY grease in em. I could be wrong though!

You can get needle attachments for your grease gun that will let you pierce the rubber shield and inject grease.
