Hello fellow cruisers! I'm new here and recently purchased a '87 FJ60.
Will somebody confirm which line is the main fuel line. The top or bottom hard line running back to the tank?
I had the LC shipped to a nearby parking lot and drove it about 5 miles back to the house. It ran pretty rough and I noticed a metal fuel filter was on the line connected to the Return port instead of the IN port. The fuel bowl was filling this way.
I disconnected the lines from the pump and blew air thru the tank and ended up getting fuel thru both lines so I installed the line (with a new filter) to the IN port instead of the R port on the fuel pump. The fuel bowl in the carb filled and I took it for a test drive (about 2 miles) where it stalled out as I was entering the driveway. Good timing?? but now the bowl doesn't want to fill up and more fuel is in the return line than the main line. I thought about switching the rubber fuel lines where they connect to the hard lines so the filter would be on this line but just wanted some clarification on which line is the main before I do this. Any help would be very much appreciated!
