Hello,

I'm wondering what everyone's experience is with slider brands. Which ones would you recommend? I want to install it myself. I like the look of the Victory 4x4, but I'm unsure if the full metal solution is best. Slee offers a traditional slider/running board, which is nice because I use the running boards to step on, and they do have extra AHC protection. TKO also seems to have a couple of nice solutions - one sticks straight out and has a kick near the rear, and the other option they have fits tight to the rocker, so you lose the step. What are you running and why? Image from Victory for conversation purposes..

I like my slee sliders steps. Slow but reasonably straight forward install. I put LC200 rockers on and they fit perfectly. I like things to look as oem as possible (I hate exposed welds and bolts, etc.)

I had metaltech sliders on my GX and they worked great but just looked too industrial for something to put on a Lexus.

I run the @sleeoffroad ones with 200 series rocker panels. They’re solid, easy to install, and take a hell of a beating.

I have a set if 1st gen Slee sliders and they are still as solid as when I got them. For day to day use having a nice step is hard to beat. If you are building a wheeler you’ll miss having a kickout. These trucks are wide.

I caught my fender a few years back and a kick out would have saved me

I would pick TKO with the kickout. The "low and flat ones" for better step and better side protection.

I currently have Slee and they look good and work for light use, but "spirited" off road use will bend them up into the rocker panel.

Are you saying the Slee sliders won't hold the weight of the rig if you pivot on a rock or do something similar? Ideally, I need something to use a hi-lift on in a pinch and lean on to overcome an obstacle. I don't plan on hard-core rock crawling, but there is always the unplanned rock or stump scenario to prepare for.

Budbuilt does not have a slider for LX570.

Got a little hung up on a rock in Moab and tried to power through (AKA slide). Well I slid, but the front edge of the slider bent up into the quarter panel. Not the full weight of the vehicle, but a pretty solid impact--enough to make the wife ask if I broke anything :hillbilly: Somewhere a little over 1/2" deflection. The body of the slider was not deformed and actually took the abuse quite well (and I have impacted the sliders more lightly many times, the body held up fine other than scraping off the powdercoat). I think the attachment arms are just a little weak for heavy use.

:edit:
The front and rear attachment points are just vertical plate, not boxed or tubular or anything. It was the front attachment arm that really bent. IMO, the front-most attachment arm is probably the most crucial for a slider's intended purpose. You can see from this picture, the middle attachments are much more beefy:

Can you share more pictures and details of your tire carrier and rear recovery points in this pic?? that looks amazing from this angle! :D

...and...kickouts for the win!

some details and a few pics here!

Dissent makes nice sliders as well. I don't wheel hard so can't comment on big impact strength, but are built well, look great, work well as a step, give me peace of mind off road, etc.

I belive they don't make them for the LX

Huge fan of Dissent, but to my understanding, they don't have a slider product for the LX570. Do you have them on an LX?

no, I didn't realize there was a fit difference.
