Hello,
I want to install quad HID on my 2000 LX470.
I want to do it myself because I love doing these projects.

I am a little bit lost as to what to buy.
Should I order two sets of HID retrofit kits?
I understand the kit should include:
- projector
- ballast (igniter??)
- bulb
- shroud

Anything else?
And, suggestions for which kit?
I am partial to the Morimoto D2S 5.0, yet not really sure what I should buy.

I know there's a member here (Luke) that has LB BuiltWerks - Design - Fabrication - Retrofit Lexus LX470 Headlights

If I can get the materials/equipment from him, even better.

Thanks for all the feedback!

Following. Trying to find out more what’s the difference between Morimoto D2S 5.0 and Morimoto Mini H1 7.0

@OEMGUY0720 check this video out... explained quite a lot, and went over the differences

What I am wondering is what would the in-house ih8mud experts suggest.
I think the Mini is good for foglights... yet not sure what to do for the "headlights" themselves.

I’d like to tackle a similar project with my LC. It already has one set of projectors but I’d like to do a quad in the one piece DEPO headlights. I’m mostly uneasy about the whole baking headlight part to dis and reassemble.

All you need:

The D2S will fit in the low beam side of a LX but not in the HB location... I’ve built four sets of quads and they are not really worth the effort. The Mini H1 and the D2S produce more then enough light. The D2S even using my bracket is not an easy Retrofit
I’ve also retrofitted my fog lights with the Matchbox Projectors

Thanks for sharing @Luke111. So the best options to use for the LX470’s low beam headlights would be the D2S and the Mini H1?

I think I’m already sold with the Mini H1.

I’ve recently upgraded to HID on my low beams but not really happy with the output. It’s probably because of the stock OE low beam projector lens.

This is how my stock headlights on HID look now:

That's my first retrofit with the bracket. Mini H1 with 35W ballast and 4500K bulbs.. You could go to 5500k or 6500k for a more pure white color.. I'll check my stock of H1 brackets tonight.... I'm down to just a few left.. and will be out of them for about a month

My interest is increasing in this mod. It's dark out here and the stock headlights are not cutting it!

Nothing speaks like experience.
You've convinced me to go with one-pair.

I most definitely will.

Any preferred time of day for you?
I am east-coast time zone... I don't want to call you at the wee hours of the morning.

I need a pair of h1 brackets asap Luke.
Thank you.

Sent you a PM

@Luke111

I'm going to attempt a retrofit with the H1 bracket? On your site, do they come in pairs or do u need to order 2? Also, do I need to differentiate between left and right side brackets? Thanks!

I am glad that my LX470 came standard with HID high beam.
