Using CarPlay but I had experienced a few “nuances” with the wireless connectivity. For me it doesn’t love switching between multiple phones and sometimes gets stuck between them. I first check to make sure the phone is paired, then I reboot the CarPlay app and last
I reboot the unit. This happens rarely now with the latest software. I think the culprit is lots of switching between phones. Still 100x better than stock and it’s been worth the hassle.

I have not tried Android auto yet. Will sometimes use my phone as a wifi hotspot, but I run the apps directly on the CC3.
Are you trying AA wired, or wireless? From what I've read it may be wired only.
If anyone is fighting through an install I'm about 90% the way through on my '06 LX 470 so the learnings are fresh. Experienced a bunch of the hiccups exposed in these 40 or so pages and really appreciate the help and prior debugging. Has any one tackled a compilation "how to" write up? I still haven't buttoned everything up yet so if we think that could be helpful I can still take some good photos and give it a go.
Currently making my life difficult and trying to route my new back up camera in the most OEM-ish way possible. There is not much room in that rubber sleeve between the hatch lid and the rear cargo area but I'm determined to route things inside the panel and not breach the door gasket with a wire.

I use one device only and have the exact same issue, with the exact same solutions. Check if the bluetooth is connected, and re-boot the carplay app.
Really wish it had a fix, or someone doing updates on the software. It's the one big complaint i have

Anyone figured out how to share phone internet to the t'eyes with a tether? My phone indicates you should be able to share wi-fi (cell service) through a bluetooth connection but it doesn't work. I can use a hotspot on my phone and connect the t'eyes for wi-fi, but then the bluetooth automatically disconnects. I haven't tried sharing it via usb, wanted it wireless.
(2005 dash) I've done a bit of research on this and can't find anything aside from the hvac control swaps, which sacrifices all your nice wood trim around the radio. Anyone figured out a way to delete the stock lower radio unit. Guessing it would require an entirely custom solution as no other models variations have anything that would fit where the radio is. Also other issues like the radio controlling the stock amp, but i'd just delete that. Still not sure how much the t'eyes relies on the stock radio

Yes - absolutely just buttoning things up now, here's a quick brain dump. For the most part a positive experience, everything that should work works! The system is minimally buggy but I'm also pretty forgiving when it comes to that stuff.
- Stock rear view camera won't work out of the box (without modification but there are some links somewhere on mud where someone had retrofitted
- I opted for purchasing the HD camera and ran a wire to the rear. I tapped the reverse signal in the LH rear wheel well harness (blk_red)
- No persistent hiss sound with the ML system but you do have to find a balance between the stock amp volume (adjusted on the big nob on old radio) and the radio control on the screen (controlled by steering volume or on screen).
- Don't forget to configure the CAN bus settings so the heating controls work - the app that it comes with works fine but I'm looking forward to side loading GitHub - rsteckler/Climate100: Climate control replacement app for the Land Cruiser 100 and LX470 using the Teyes CC3 (and probably other FYT-based systems) - https://github.com/rsteckler/Climate100

- When you configure the 'assistant' aka like floating button that you can use to shortcut to HVAC controls there are two versions. I gotta dig up how I got to each but one way it brings you to a shortcut screen first, then you can select the HVAC - the other way it displays a snowflake instead of a generic button and it brings you straight there.
- There were a few harnesses that don't end up fitting anywhere - seems to be normal for the setup and harness that ships from Teyes. Start by plugging everything into the back of the teyes then work back from there. Don't forget to keep the big black box that sits behind the old GPS screen in the car - only the big hunk of aluminum with the screen and plastic shroud comes out.
- Goes without saying but be gentle with the lower radio surround - I broke mine Once that's out though the vents come out real easy. The screen will feel real flimsy before you mount everything back up (the top screws don't hold the screen down) but once it's all pressed back into place it's quite sturdy.
- I blew my ACC fuse in short order - I had a 7.5a in my hundy (driver kick panel). Since the screen has a 15a fuse I decided to replace my ACC with a 15a as well. If the screen goes dark and won't boot (and your sideview mirror retraction button also stops working) check your fuse.
- The stock radio has two antenna for the radio - the main one and a secondary on the RH rear window I believe. You can buy a Y cable to merge these but only one fits in the back of the Teyes. I opted to just leave the auxiliary one dangling.
- Password for dev setting on screen (where you can do things like turn of reverse guidance lines) is 168

This is a great read. I want to replace the radio in my newly acquired ‘06 LX with a t’eyes unit. I have Xtrons head units in two other cars, so I’m familiar with the extra tuning required with these.
I’m thinking of buying the 2K version w/ 32GB. It comes with a free camera, right? Anything else you guys are finding that is necessary?

yeah go for it! I have no regrets w/ the CC3 2K 32GB 4GBram. Doesn't lag or seem to need the extra storage or RAM. Past few week ownership experience is that the car play works great wirelessly but it does seem to get confused if you plug in via usb. Might just be me though.
Anyone have issues with the connectors? Should they be tough to insert?

Working on my rearview camera setup. Wanted OEM+ fit and finish. I modified the block off plate from a Slee camera relocation kit to accept the Teyes camera.
Modified blanking plate:
With camera and gasket installed.
I used M3 hardware to mount the camera and used the supplied adhesive mount modified to fit around the gasket. 1/2in hole is required to allow the RCA connector and wiring to pass through.
Does anyone know if the OEM camera wiring harness has provision for a reverse signal? I pulled the EWD - below.

I didn't have any luck finding a reverse signal in the upper tailgate. I ended up tapping the blk/red wire found on top of the big bundle that runs through the tire jack cubby.
Yep, that’s the backup plan. Need to dig out my voltage tester to test the backup cam harness, but if I can’t find a signal there I’ll route to the rear quarter/tire jack.

There are two small tabs that protrude into the opening for the camera. These will need to be removed or bent inwards.
I had to trim a sliver off of the rear inside of the gasket I installed in the Slee blank plate. It was just barely catching the lip of the mounting hole in the hatch.

I didn’t take any pictures, but I got the t’eyes installed in my ‘06 LX and wired up the factory rear camera for now. I have a bunch of stuff planned…DSP, amps, new speakers, subwoofer etc.
Has anyone tackled this in a Land Cruiser recently? I plan on installing one along with a new amplifier to avoid the hum people seem to have on the LC
If you’re installing in a LC and replacing the amp, I think you’re fine following the advice in this thread. What amp are you planning on using?
