I took out the OEM unit now im having trouble figuring out the install. Do we keep the black box on the back or ditch that as well?

Any install help would be great im mid install. I understand the car side harness but unsure on the screen side. Are there any videos?

I dont see how to mount the screen into the center console bracket either there are no bolt holes on the sides of the screen for mounting.

You keep the black box, and the provided harnesses will interface between everything.

Do get the head unit-specific harnesses installed first though, almost no room to work if they're not plugged in.

Edit: you should see how the screen will mount as things come together. AFAIK there are only the two screws on the bottom...the top of the screen just sort of floats in there. Feels super janky when it's out of the dash, but when everything is clipped back in place it's super solid.

Is there any manufacturer markings on the units that could be an alternate source for tech support? Zhifang or something?

Yeah, like @saucebox said... I plugged everything into the back of the Android screen, then you just gotta find the plugs that fit. The ones in the black box stay connected to the black box (as far as I know) and the other ones plug into the back of the tape player.

There are no instructions for our stock head units. But, the plugs only fit one way.

@Slickspawn, Teyes is the only label anywhere.

Well hopefully Dan Teyes get his sh!t together because I'm about ready to order one and if it doesn't work I'm refuting the charges based on the sales page and application working through 2007. Maybe that'll get his attention. I'm sure these cost $100 from China though, he can't be the one engineering all of it in Australia...

For those that have installed this, I'm curious what extra plugs you had. There were two that I couldn't find a home for and this one from the harness is the one that concerns me.

That was (is) missing on mine also. Everything works.

Thanks - just making sure. The only thing that doesn't work on mine is the A/C controls. I tried the factory reset and that didn't fix anything. I'm waiting to hear back from Dan. Volume control knob, steering wheel controls, etc. all work and the sound is excellent. I need that A/C though!

Yeah, AC is pretty important!

Funny, because mine is the exact opposite. Is the vehicle info app working? Can you get to the screen that has the AC controls, but they don't work, or is it that app not working at all?

I can get to the screen for the AC controls but nothing works. I checked my manufacture date and it is April 2006. Might be the reason for the different results based on the earlier post.

Interesting. Can you control the radio and CD player from that app?

Crazy. Again, it's the opposite for me. I have AC control, but no radio or CD.

Also, Dan seems to have gone MIA for me. I'm trying to be patient, but I've been back and forth with this for over a week now.

Radio yes but I haven't tested the CD changer.

Does the radio antena go into the screen or back in the stock location?

I figured out the harness side and its hard to fit everything back there. Do the Wi-Fi and gps atenna need to be outside, or can i stuff it in the back as well.

Has one setup oem or aftermarket rear cam im having trouble understanding how to do it.

All the videos I've seen have them sticking all the antennas to a flat section underneath the dash to keep them hidden. I skipped the 4G and 5G antennas (don't care, won't use) and just did the GPS puck. Seems to work OK in GaiaGPS (Android version installed on head unit) though I haven't tested it thoroughly.

Been working to get an aftermarket cam (the Teyes one) done this week, and got it working last night. I've got to put it all back together still, but just wired it up as the diagram specifies. Are you using their camera?

Yes im using their camera. How did you wire it, run the cables and where did you put the camera. A few pics would go a long way.

I havent buttoned it up yet until i can confirm where the radio antenna does any help out there?

I was finally able to get the A/C to work on mine after 2 factory resets. I now have A/C and sound. I'll try to post a video later, just trying to get everything to fit back in the dash. GPS works great as does the 5G wifi. I connected to my home wifi and was able to download apps, etc. Also connected by USB and Bluetooth and was able to use Apple CarPlay with both.

The only issue I have now is a message that keeps popping up - it says "Activation failed! Please check if the network is connected!" Happens whether I am connected to wifi or not. Any suggestions on that?

@DMCTX would you please post a few pictures of the back of your OE nav system and what the boxes looked like? And you were April 2006 production date correct?
