Really hope support can get this figured out for you. All I can think of is maybe double-check the connections and try a factory reset.

Received an optimistic email from Dan too, but am starting to have some doubts.

Dont give up complete hope. If they update their software to include 06+ canbus it will work perfect.

Yep - I think that’s where it’s at. I’m in communication with Dan. It certainly doesn’t seem to be a hardware issue. I don’t know how difficult it is to make updates to work with the ‘06/07, but I think that is the solution. I wonder if the ‘08 canbus interpreter would work for 06/07??

It’s an awesome unit. Very fast and user friendly. I hope they can provide an update and make it work for us!

I remain hopeful also, although I haven't ordered a unit yet we all know the Phoenix PX6 "Tesla" style screen works in 06-07, so a solution exists. I don't know if the PX6 uses a can bus box or not, but a solution does exist so it's not far off.

An update - still working on it. I did a factory reset with instructions from Dan and the passcode. The good news is that now I have AC controls working. The radio and CD player controls aren't working in the car control app. I think that's where the hissing sound is coming from. If I change the radio channel, the sound stops while it's searching for the new channel. Then starts back up when it locks on. However, the channel doesn't actually play. I don't know if that makes sense. But, it seems like maybe the radio is causing the background hissing.

Anyway, still working on it. I get a reply from Dan each morning which makes sense since he's in Australia. So, trouble shooting is slow going, but, maybe its getting somewhere???

@JJ_SC do you have the OEM rear camera hooked up to it? If so, was an adapter needed as I don't see such a thing on their site. Thanks!

I have an aftermarket camera on my tire carrier. It's already integrated into the OEM system, so I think it will just pick it up as part of the system. But, to be honest, I haven't even gotten that far yet. That will be a minor detail if I can get the whole thing working! Haha.

How did you run the cable from the back to the front.

I don't know, I paid someone to do it for me back when I didn't have time to mess with stuff like this. Hah! I'll take a look tomorrow and see if I can tell where they routed it.

I'm locked in to hear the results of this. I have an 06 LC so not sure if some of the issues @JJ_SC is getting would be applicable, probably so. Hopeful all issues get addressed and this thing will be an instant buy!

Got tired of waiting so I ordered it for my 06 LX. Says 7-10 days to ship.

I have an 06 LC. So, it should be identical. Unless you’re not in North America.

Unfortunately, I think I might be stuck. I have functional AC controls on the car info app and functional steering wheel controls. But, the background hiss is really bad. None of the suggestions I received from Dan for addressing that worked at all. It seems like the stock amp needs to be turned down, but there is no way to do that. I suppose I could try the amp bypass that people have done for earlier models, but that’s another can of worms and I don’t think I want to have to do that.

I don’t know if it’s a problem with the specific unit they sent me, or if it’s an underlying compatibility issue.

@xswl, I’m selfishly glad you’re trying it. If it works, then maybe I just got a bad one. But, my current feeling is that something about the 06/07s are different and it’s not quite there. I have basically the same results as the guy who initially posted on page one of this thread. Shoulda read more closely. Hah.

That's really a shame. So you're getting the hiss no matter what function you try to use (AM/FM, Bluetooth, CarPlay/Android Auto)?

I'm not too up on the LC's audio, do all models have an amp?

If nothing else, hopefully I can determine if it's a 06 incompat issue or not

I had been waiting to see how your install went, but I got impatient last night and I installed the CC3 in my 06 LX470. I have good audio and my volume controls work, but I can't get the A/C controls to do anything. Would you mind sharing the factory reset instructions that Dan sent you?

Something I learned from the nav delete threads is there was a production change in Jan 2006 (confirmed) for the 06 Model year so for us 06-07 people it would be helpful to include your production date and a pic of the backside of your control boxes.

Jan 2006 info Source:

edited april 30th for clarity.

First off, I'll attach all my lexus PDFs needed below and in the next two posts.

Starting with the easy stuff, the top computer screen, case, and connector.

computer 8326560220
case assembly 83240-60220

And whatever double din you need or want. It has come to my attention that the toyota OEM part is a way better part, if only in the fitment aspect of things. It's part number
#55412-60310 $58 partsouk, compared to the $30 ebay one. The same side adapters fit the stock part. So any adapters from ebay or amazon work with the stock piece.

All those above are the same for the landcruiser also.

The metal side brackets are the same as landcruiser 86208-60030 left hand, and 86207-60030 right hand. You can't reuse the old ones.

The lower section.
The panel that covers the whole thing and houses the small connectors for the cdl, hzrd an antenna +passenger side seatbelt/airbag light remains the same and covers up all the parts listed below.

The case holding the AC amp and the heater circuit board is listed as 55912-60140
That is one number off the totyota case.

The heater integration panel (circuit board) 84014-60210 (2003- jan 2006) This is the part listed on lexus sites. The late 2006-2007 part number is 84014-60340
I suspect maybe there is an addition to the later part number circuit wise, just like there is a break in production of the LC in Jan 2006 units. I have not found it in my LC books though.

EDIT april, 21, 2018.
It is a fact if your production date is after jan 2006 you must have 84014-60340 which is NLA, and I have not been able to find it anywhere here or international parts places.
There could be a fix by using the jan 2006 + production LC board. That would be a $600 bill to find out if it does or not. The circuitry is going to be in there for the additional passenger airbag on off indicator that is yellow.

First week of may I will have both the LC later board and the board/ assembly for a 2005 LX and I'll find out if you can put the landcruiser board into the plastic sub assembly and make it work with a different button arrangement.
Essentially re arranging the lower buttons to match up with the current LX arrangement. If you compare the LC and LX you'll see the lower buttons are in different spots on the lower panel. I'll know soon.

The AC amplifier has four different part numbers listed for UZJ100L-GNAGKA

88650-60820 , listed as 2003-2006 This one I don't know about and can't really find any info.
88650-60821 , listed as feb,2004-may2005 This one I can confirm that I've seen in an assembly listed for a 2005 landcruiser and is the correct configuration with the correct plugs that are in the LX and LC. And has been used in other conversions.

88650-60B80 , listed as may2005-2007 all.. this one I can confirm is correct and works in my LC. I would like someone to install this one in an LX 2003-4. I see no reason why it wouldn't work. But again, I have no proof. honestly, if someone put it the 88650-60821 and it turned out wrong or something didn't work right I could commit to swapping with you. I'm pretty confident that wither board will work fine, both were in non nav LC north america.

The MPH, distance, fuel econ, etc comes from the UART lines that go into the M12 connector. Also those lines dictate Fahrenheit in the upper right instead of C° (instrument panel dependent I think)

The lower front plastic panel.
Panel Sub Assembly- 55902-60130 this is lexus only of course. The knob kit for the lexus part is 55905-60760.
if you swapped to the toyota sub panel you'd have to switch side panel vents also, because then the lower cover wouldn't work, the one with the wood, or fake wood on it.

Connector info.

The AC connections in the lexus are A47, A48, and A49.
They are the same connectors as in the landcruiser, just numbered differently. Same part numbers though.

I have these and repair wires for the two needed.

The display connector M12 is the same as the LC and most of the wires needed for the new M12 connector come from the M5. I have these if you want them, either in a pluf an play along with the M5, or as a stand alone wire yourself configuration.
The m12 is a hard to find part I think. I only have one place where I ordered my lat set with a order minimum of $50, so I do in fact have a lot of these.

The combo meter, (instrument panel) connectors are the same as the LC, C14 is the leftmost connector, count over from there to C16 and were looking for pins 16 and 17.
THE 2003 LEXUS appears to have the combo meter pins moved up two positions to #14 and #15. These are the uart data lines. Do some reading, check TIS for 2003 specific, or check a 2003 FSM in the combo meter section for pin outs, the will for sure be listed in the FSM I just had some conflicting info about an Australian LXs pins being one off.

The C34 connector behind the display is the one that controls the antenna and hazrd, etc.
That's the one that gets cut and the some of the wires go into the A47 connector. (in the LC the same connector is labeled C28)
This is also where you would have a blue/white wire and a violet wire labeled as PAON and off (passenger air bag on, and off) those are also inserted in to the new A47 plug
I will never run out of A47 housings or the .64 III terminals for them.

Huge data point!

I just received my screen and I'm going to attempt the install.

Good start!

Instructions from Dan for the factory reset:

"Setting - user - backup/reset - 168 - delete all data
The unit will reboot"

My production date is 11/05. Toyota Land Cruiser w/Nav.

I haven't made any progress since my last post. I can also note that nothing happens or changes on screen when I shift into reverse. Unfortunately, I have not heard anything back from Dan in two days either. Perhaps he is working on the fix?? I don't know, but I hope he doesn't leave me hanging!

Good luck guys. Hopefully your results are better than mine.

JJ

This is what the back looks like:

I took out the OEM unit now im having trouble figuring out the install. Do we keep the black box on the back or ditch that as well?

Any install help would be great im mid install. I understand the car side harness but unsure on the screen side. Are there any videos?

I dont see how to mount the screen into the center console bracket either there are no bolt holes on the sides of the screen for mounting.
