IRS.

Was gonna ask a favor, too.

Bahahaha.

Ain't believing NSA, regardless.

Only a handful of people on this planet so stupid that they'd use their real names on the internet. :)

Yep I am that stupid. But I started with this internet name 13 or 14 years ago on internet forums. The first was a 911 forum and I didn't know any better. I also don't block out my license plate numbers, or address, really at this point if someone from mud wants to invade my privacy I pretty much put it all in this thread, they just have to read it. lol.

Well I can send you a pic of my badge if you don't believe it. lol. Almost 16 years with the government/military and giving it all up. There was no further upward progression and I couldn't see myself sitting in the same job for another 25 years. That and it was never something I really loved to do, just kind of fell into it and had success. Success and money can be a good trap but it is still a trap, and life is too short to work 9-10 hours a day doing something you don't like.

And I totally get it, not sure what it is about the 80 but I drive fancy cars and they don't feel, just right, like the 80. I get in my 80 and I am like "Ahh Yeah, I like this "

Thanks mtnman, my parents have a house there. We started going to Moab 25 years ago ridding mountain bikes and is still a great place to get away.

This is my mom and dad, my dad just had his 65th birthday and my mom is 62. They gets out and do some killer hikes, and 3 years ago dad and I rode "The Whole Enchilada" pretty badass for an old man. Big reason I am giving up a desk job. lol.

Thanks! The 80 might be a little smoother, but it will never have that freedom of no top on a nice spring or fall day and it is not an iconic classic like your Bj42 is, at least not yet..... :)

Guess we could change to cool names

After witnessing a PBB hit job a few years ago, changed mine everywhere I could to 銀チタン to guarantee anonymity, which worked until all the forums updated and the characters are no longer recognized.

Was continually messaged the question by any fluent in Japanese,

"You know that means nothing, right?"

Bahahaha.

Haha yeah Pirate is a special place they are all too happy to send a lynch mob out to your house if you're an idiot. I have managed not to be an idiot for this long though so I think we will be safe. Usually pirate goes after people that rip others off, in most of my dealings the only one getting ripped off is me. :-/ lol

Sealing the brand new front windshield and OEM gasket because the glass guy evidently couldn't read directions even after I book marked the FSM and gave it to him. Why can't people do s*** right?? Absolutely frustrates the hell out of me!

Yeah its terrible, I accidently touched my forearm down in it after I had set the gun down on the table and it leaked out and nothing would get it off. Water, soap, 409, alcohol, I didn't have any brake cleaner but found some goo off extreme that finally worked kind of. But I am finding black s*** everywhere I might have brushed my forearm against. And in the job of cleaning it up it somehow migrated to my clothes, etc. I just put everything in a big garbage bag clothes and all and threw them away.

Its kinda of like monsta liner once its on you it must more or less wear off as the harsh chemicals you must use to try to get all that stuff off just eats your skin, clean off as best so you are not transferring to new s*** and wait...effective stuff but a pain to clean up, nice tape job on the windshield!

Haha yeah I am going to have to tape it and do it all over again. I was getting pissed at the sticky s*** getting all over everything, the tip on the gun broke, etc I said fxxx it, ripped everything off and threw it away. but I am moving tomorrow, pulling the LX, 1100 miles behind a uhaul van. I see a lot of 40mph hills in my future. Lol

uhhhhhgggg i have the front windshield gasket sitting in the garage. I'm intimidated by this adhesive stuff and making a total mess. So far the local glass guy is a tool and has told me that i should call him two weeks out for him to schedule us meeting to schedule the repair.....

Yeah have the professionals do it, just be there to make sure they do it right!! It would be so much easier to lay a bead of adhesive inside the channel of the weather stripping while it's off and put it on the window and then put another bead on the otherside and install it. Trying to pull back the lip and get a gun under there and get adhesive squeezed in while pulling the gun along, without bending or breaking the tip off seemed to be an issue for me. I only had 1 tube of sealant and once the tip got bent back it lost all rigidity and became impossible to use.

Really digging the look of your rig! Enjoyed flipping through the thread as well!

Anymore pics?

I'm in the same boat as you. Grew up on FJ40s (had 6 of them at some point in the 90s.lol) ... slowly moved away from off-road and into on-road toys. Now realize that migration was a mistake. Feel so much more at home in the 80 than in a BMW...

My 80 has turned into quite the 4-H project with a bad Cummins swap. She'll be back on the road soon enough though!

Haha I thought I posted way more pics than anyone cares to see. What kind of pics are you looking for? I know there are a lot of pages I should probably go through at some point and organize some kind of table of contents on the first post .

Just some finished project pics to drool over :D... I probably missed them buried in the 58 page thread! I did flip through it a good bit though :)
