Hi Everyone,
I have recently purchased a 2006 LX470 with 200k miles. The last timing belt change was at 100k, so I started working on the timing belt change. As I dissasembled the engine, I saw it's heavily covered in old grease, suggesting an oil leak. However, I can't figure out if the oil leak is from valve cover gaskets, camshaft seals, or maybe something else entirely (not sure what)? I will obvisously replace valve cover gaskets, however changing camshaft seals on this engine (VVT-I) requires taking out camshafts, which is a big job which I would rather avoid if not neccessary. Is there a good way to tell if the camshaft seals are leaking?
Thanks in advance!
